best games of 1.18

I remember one of the mYm crew-- I think it was Nordahl-- did an awesome job picking the best games of patch 1.17. Well, I thought I'd open a thread for suggestions for the best games of patch 1.18 after watching what I think is a definite top ten placer: third game of Romeo versus Spider on Echo Isles. It's the best game of patch 1.18 I've seen so far. It's what WC3 is all about-- high level heroes duking it out to the bitter end long after their armies have fallen.

SC is and always will be one of the greatest RTS games of all time, but for all those who say heroes ruined the WC franchise, this game proves otherwise. :D

It wasn't nordahl it was the hot and sexy Quinine doing it (with his David Boreanz look) ;)

Imho that game wasnt very spectacular, I mean undead vs orc on echo is really boring and so was this game especially in the end after the death of the blademaster.

Ah, well, sorry for the mixup. Props to Quinine then. :D

Yeah, Orc vs. UD on EI is boring coz the Orc often dominates. ;P BM just quick-creeps to level 3 and it's GG.

And how come no one uses the DreadLord anymore? There was a time, when Zacard began his rampage against the Korean UDs not too long ago, that the DL was the second hero of choice. I saw FoV and Luficer do it against Zad in the WCG qualies and MadFroG in the first Korea versus Europe tournament, but now it's back to the Lich...zzzz.... :|

Hey, you're welcome Quinine. :D It was really a job well done. I had seen most of the games you chose before you ranked them but two of them were an absolute delight to see for the first time, including Moon versus Sky.

I would also like to nominate one of the Grubby versus FoV games from ESWC. Again, it came down to heroes and some crazy micro by FoV with his DK-Lich owned Grub. :)) (I just realized, maybe I answered my own question about why UDs choose the Lich over the DK by recommending this game. ;)

Looking forward to your next list, Quin! ;)

I'm trying to view the "MUST SEE!" game from the recent match between Rainbow and Lyn. Can anyone offer a link to the map Maelstrom_WEG? I only have the _v2.1 version. :((

Ah, well worth the map search. :D I'm not sure it's top ten material, though. Again, a rather premature BM death sealed this one. No mana. TT If Lyn had been able to get off a Bladestorm, it might have been a different story. Instead, it's a murderous Stampede by Rainbow that breaks the back of the Orc.

InCup featuring WinneR versus Ohjie, game 2 on LT. Amazing game. O_o Insanely high level heroes, rampaging Taurens versus an aerial armada of Frost Wyrms and a nail-biting finish that could go either way. Game to beat in this patch, IMO. 8)

#19 agree, that was by far one of the craziest game i've seen in a while. heroes 9-9-9-10, non-stop turn arounds, it could really have gone either way even at the end..
