new sorc spell..
I recently got into the habit of copying Moon's strat of buying a Wand of Illlusion at the Merchant Shop on Echo Isles to confuse my enemy. As a HU player, it hit me-- why isn't this a Sorceress spell? It seems like it's the next, natural progression on their spell training track after Invisibility. Sorceress strike me as spellcasters that specialize in stealth, misdirection and confusion. If they can make you disappear, shouldn't they be able to create mirages of you?I say make this their Master Training over Polymorph. Poly is hardly ever used anyway; I suspect because it costs too much and can easily be dispelled and doesn't work on heroes like Cyclone. Most HUs research Master Training only so it can give them the extra mana to cast another shot of Invis when needed, like to cloak a massive air army.
Is this imba, you think? I think if the cost is right, and if you can maybe Dispel/Abolish/Disenchant the illusions (well, not sure about this), maybe it's a better alternative to Poly. Just a suggestion... ;P

     #1 12.06.2006, 11:03 Posts : 65 Member since : 17 Jan 06 | Wand of Illusin has 3 reloads, if you have 10 sorcress you could copy like 2x 10 knights, then you fight with 10real knights and 20 Illusions.. would be pretty imba. Because enemy would need all his mana to dispell the illusions and would get raped while doing so. I'am Human and if I have enough expos I use polymorph, it's pretty effictive against Orc's. |

Maybe you can use Dust of Appearance, Shades, Sentry Wards, Gyros, etc. to reveal it-- stuff that doesn't work on the Blademaster's Mirror Image or the current Wand of Illusion. That, and all the races use dispel-type spells anyway to neutralize the Sorceress' Slow, and since these spells-- Devour Magic, Disenchant, Dispel and Detonate-- are AoE, the mana wouldn't be for naught. |

And as you said in #3, "all the races use dispel-type spells anyway to neutralize the Sorceress' Slow", wouldnt say that everyone does...
