CGS: Euro draft

The long run is over, impressions have been taken in, calculated and the result is here. I am, of course, talking about the CGS Combine, which is held in the UK with participants from all over Europe and the UK.

Before the combine started, people all had their favorites, while the GM's held their own opinions close to their hearts. So, throughout the last few days, people have been following scores, carefully watching which matches were being set up in the challenge part by the GM's.

The tournament went somewhat as expected, Sweden NoA, Australia fnatic and Sweden EYE all made it through to the final rounds, with EYE doing an impressive job by beating fnatic twice, by 10-8 (CGS mr9 rules) and earning them the first place. Following SwedenEYE is fnatic on second and SwedenNoA on third.

Throughout the combine, the GM's had the european teams (NoA, EYEBALLERS and fnatic) facing each other in so-called challenge matches to compare their strengths, both on and off the field. That had not been enough for bsl (Berlin GM) and HeatoN (stockholm GM), as they wished to compare them to their possible counterparts from the UK, thus meaning that challenge matches between teams like NoA, United Kingd- 4Kings, fnatic, EYE, United Kingd- Zboard, United Kingd- infused and United Kingd- Dignitas were set up, the european teams coming out with blazing guns, ultimately winning their matches.

All of the teams are now finished trying to prove themself worthy of being a proffesional CGS team, and their future as a fully paid pro are now in the hands of bsl and HeatoN.

At the drafting, HeatoN had the first turn, and chose EYEBALLERS, containing one of his old mates, Red, who recently turned over to CS:Source. bsl chose NoA even though they came in 3rd at the playoffs.

This means that fnatic wins the prizepot from the EU combine as they did not get drafted and recieve a contract.

This concludes the european drafting, which resulted in NoA now being the Berlin Allianz and EYE becoming Stockholm Magnetik

Next will be the Uk draft which will be picked by United Kingd- Michael O'Dell and United Kingd- Sujoy Roy.

hm Im really thinking about who's gonna watch CGS anyway. It will be great in america but in europe i guess they dont have a chance.

the only game that even gets some attention is source anyway and berlin has not a single german in its lineup...

nobody is watching CGS games right now and there is a little interest in source so why should it change that much after CGS started.

CGS will suck in Europe, everyone already knew that weeks before this "kind of draft". Even the choices were biased, what a mess...
