After nearly 18 months of streaming, the broadcast station GIGA2 will shut down their program and discontinues streaming at November, 15th. But that's not the end of the story, ESL-TV will start coeval and replace GIGA2. GIGA will continue but they want to go more in a direction they call "Gaming and Digital Lifestyle" but continue to send 7 hours a week eSports content.

With the formation of a new TV-Production company, the ESL is going back to their roots and continues where GIGA2 ends. They absorb a big part of GIGA2 like equipment, the set and the video archive but also their crew who won't be any longer part of GIGA.

ESL-TV will be, like GIGA2, a pay-tv station, but with streams only about eSports and show matches from the ESL Pro Series, Intel Friday Night Games, Extreme Masters and other eSport events. These things will be shown on a High Quality Stream. They also want to offer a permanent free stream with lower quality which should be available 24/7. It is also announced that they want to improve the technique as well as the youth protection system with which GIGA2 had some issues in the past.
