Dallas, Texas – August 30, 2007 – Razer™, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle electronics peripherals, today announced ‘Go Pro with Razer’ at Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) Summer, an initiative which gives gaming teams across the world a chance to turn pro with Razer.
The highly coveted Razer sponsorship gives existing teams an opportunity to join Razer’s stable of sponsored teams, collectively known as Team Razer. At present, Team Razer consists of global professional gaming teams, such as Fnatic, Jibo and MYM from Europe, CheckSix and Team EG from North America and Rocketboy, Team WE and XGamers from Asia. Razer is actively looking for teams who show strong dedication to their gaming passion and a desire to grow with Razer.
A spectrum of gaming sponsorship packages will be awarded to selected candidates / teams, ranging from exclusive Team Razer apparel and full Razer product sponsorships to tournament participation funding and professional gaming salaries. They will also enjoy all attendant benefits of being a Razer ambassador; publicity through Razer’s communication vehicles, instant scene credibility and an opportunity to influence future generations of Razer gaming peripherals by participating in co-development with Razer’s scientists and engineers.
“The CPL has been one of the great training grounds over the past ten years for top professional and amateur players and teams. Razer has been involved with the CPL community during this time with the mutual goal of growing eSports in the eyes of gamers, fans and press around the world. It is once again an honor and a privilege to band together with the CPL as a sponsor to support the growth of professional gaming," said Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff, president of Razer.
“As a brand synonymous with gaming, Razer has been actively supporting and growing e-sports. Razer has been involved with CPL since 2000 with the US$100,000 Razer/CPL Tournament, and we are honored to have Razer’s continued recognition. Launching ‘Go Pro with Razer’ at CPL is a great opportunity for aspiring gamers to eventually become professional gamers, and they can be assured of the best products and the highest level of commitment from Razer,” said Angel Munoz, Founder and President of Cyberathlete Professional League.
To be eligible for consideration into the ‘Go Pro with Razer’ program, gamers need to meet two minimum requirements. Unlike other companies who pay pro-gamers to use their products, Razer’s sponsorship program extends only to gamers who are already using Razer peripherals competitively. Further, these potential pro-gamers need to place in the top three at least thrice in live events.
At CPL Summer 2007, Razer will offer World in Conflict winners of this stop an opportunity to extend their win into a professional career with a contract worth US$20,000. This amount includes tournament funding that pertains to travel expenses to the CPL Grand Finals, and Razer products sponsorship. Similar contracts will be made available at other gaming competitions, such as CPL Winter 2007 and World Cyber Games 2007.
Other teams not participating in CPL can apply for a sponsorship at Team Razer’s official website team.razerzone.com.

hmm, razer is best for fps games, especially when it comes to mouses. as for the keyboards, raptor gaming k1>tarantula :DDD it seems razer tries the hardest to put themselves in front of the competition (if you ever read how they describe their products, aka best product in this part of universe) so i guess they are currently the best manufacturer for gaming equipment.

“The greed of winning, dedication and desire to succeed as a team”, that’s all Wiktor ‘TaZ’ Wojtas wants his team to show, so they can grow back to their former strength ...
