The Winner bracket Final will oppose Ukraine Versus Denmark. Well, no one can say this tournament went without surprises.
Denmark:
The semifinal
Denmark vs
Germany had a special taste for the MYM team. It was two of their players versus another two of their players, namely Maelk & Mania from Denmark and Hann1 & Levent from Germany. Experience prevailed in the match and the oldtimers Maelk & Mania took the win.
On paper, though, Germany were the favorite. For two reasons:
1. On top of their two MYM players they have a solid base of players from team WorldEaters, while the rest of Denmarks players are less known.
2. Denmark didn't play any real "solid" team yet, while Germany had to face and win France last round.
All the more credit to Denmark for that one. Maelk and Mania are probably some of the most ancient yet still active players in the scene, back from the BTo days. Don't discard the godfathers of Dota!
Ukraine:
Here is a team who haven't had any easy matches so far. After winning versus the revelation of this tournament,
Greece, they faced and won
Singapore and ultimately met the the favourite team of the tournament:
Russia.
Each one of these matches were a race to the finish. Against both Greece aswell as Russia, every game was a struggle that could have swung both ways but each time they prevailled. It is no accident that
Ukraine is here in the winnerbracket final.
Denmark vs Ukraine will be an old dog against new blood kind-of-match.
France vs
Canada
France has not shown much so far in this tournament. The only big team they played was Germany and they lost 0:2. They will be eager to win this one. Darkarax4 should be back in the line up, although SoyCD will be missing in action.
Canada is the favorite of this matchup. That is if they don't start singing until it is really over this time.
The match is scheduled to be played today, Monday August 13th.
The winner of the match will face
Sweden. A real tough match to look forward to in any case!
Russia vs
Greece
The two teams that lost to Ukraine.
Russia is the favorite, but Greece did tie Germany and they lost 1:2 against Ukraine while Russia lost 0:2.
If the greeks can drag their full lineup out of the sunny greek beaches, they can give Russia a run for their money.
Singapore vs
Germany
The last Asian team versus the German armada. Hard to make a pronostic on that one as hero picks and playstyle are so different.
Good luck to all team who made it this far. Some of the replays are just incredible, and when you think the best is yet to come...
