The Portugese-based multigaming organization that goes by the name of Team Excello is going to host their first Quake IV Cup which will start in about one week. Sponsor for this tournament will be SteelSeries. The gaming peripheral company puts out mousepads and headsets for the successful attendees.

Four seasons in total will be played and used as qualifier for the Final, after that the Season Finals follows. Length of one season is set to one week also for the Finals. The two best players per week will get directly into the Season Finals, so eight players will be featured in the fifth week, the Season Finals.

"We, here at Team Excello, are both excited and proud to announce our brand new cup, for Quake 4! As you may or may not now, we do host cups for the games Warcraft III and Starcraft, both of which have been very successful. And after noticing the void of tournaments out there in the community for Quake 4, even with it's buzzing community that exists, but is rarely heard from, we decided it would be an excellent idea to bring in a cup of our own," the organization's management started, "In addition to all of this, we would like to announce that this will not be just any Quake 4 tournament, it will be a tournament that will be American-based regionally."
