ANZ-DotA League

anz-dl, australia, new dota-league, new zealand

ANZ

A new DotA-league for players from Australia Australia and New Zealand New Zealand has been formed to give them the chance to play DotA on a competitive level! The league is called "Australia and New Zealand DotA League". It is an amazing step for the Pacific DotA-scene since it is really difficult to play on a competitive level for players from Australia and New Zealand due to the bad connection to Europe and the rest of the world.

It always generated lots of problems to participate in tournaments, for instance SENNHEISER Prime Defending. The league is based on other competitive leagues, like IHCS or DotA-League.com. There will be a ranking system and a vouch system. The chosen gaming platform will be the GG-Gaming Client and the meeting place for all players is the IRC network. For more information check out ANZ-DotA League´s very own homepage or move to the IRC-server irc.utonet.org and join ANZ-DL´s public channel #anzdlpublic.

Australia Tucker, one of the leading admins of the ANZ-DL posted a statement on DotA-Allstars´ Forum and here is what he said:

The Australian and New Zealand Dota League is designed to give quality Australian and New Zealand Dota players a place to meet up and play quality games of Dota. Many Aus/Nz players have tried playing in overseas leagues, some successfully and others not so, but the fact remains that due to our Geographical location (Time Zones) and neglected internet infrastructure, playing in such leagues can be a strain for many.

We have based our league off some of the better leagues from around the world by using IRC as a secure meeting place for all of you safelisted players and using GGC as our chosen gaming platform. With a bot that can be used to organise games and keep records for every player, we've developed a ranking system which will allow everyone to see their own progress and ladder position.

The League's home page is located at www.anz-dl.com, the IRC server we use is irc.utonet.org, our public channel is #anzdlpublic and our restricted channel for vouched players only is #anzdl. If you are a competitively oriented Dota player from Australia or New Zealand and feel as though you meet our league's standards, Join us on IRC or the forums for more information!

We, Internationa- MYM.DotA wish all staffmembers and all participating players the best of luck and success.
