ESWC 2007 CS group stage review

2007, counter, cs, eswc, group, strike

Looking back on the first day of the ESWC grand final Counter-Strike, there have been several upsets and close matches. One of the bigger upsets is Begrip.swe not making it through the first group stage. After first losing to the Ukrainian A-Gaming they also lost their match against the Kazach team Kazakhstan 2030, taking away their chance to clear the first group stage. One of the causes could perhaps be the lack of bootcamping as was said by JAEGARN at the Dreamhack event.

In group A there was a 3-way tie between TR.Victory, Mousesports and Team Dignitas, with TR.Victory and Team Dignitas going on to the second stage with more rounds won. The teams that will move on to the second group stage are as listed below.

China TR.Victory
United Kingd- Team Dignitas
Russian Fede- Begrip.ru
Ukraine Amazing Gaming
Sweden Fnatic
France Emulate
Russian Fede- Virtus Pro
Poland PGS Gaming or Spain X6tence

HORRIBLE performance out of begrip.se. Unlucky mouz ... no one saw TR losing to Dignitas but they messed up by FOOLING around during the Digintas match (kapio and silver buying paras before they had the win)

So far its shaping up to be great bracket play
