RotterdaM into the German EPS?

eps, germany, move, rotterdam, to

Today, rumours spread that Netherlands Orc Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi intends to move to Germany to participate in the German ESL Pro Series. This is not so astonishing as already other foreign players have had interest in the lucrative German ESL Pro Series. Korea, South Orc Tae Min "Zacard" Hwang participated one season a while ago and Russian Fede- Nightelves Andrey "Deadman" Sobolev shared his intentions of moving to Germany to participate in the EPS with the public, too, just a few days ago.

Reason for the rumours was RotterdaM's joining the German ESL Amateur Series, the league to qualify for the ESL Pro Series, the league of German gaming royalty.

"20.04.07 14:02h RotterdaM join_league Ger Warcraft 3 1on1 TFT Amateur Series"

Later this day, RotterdaM himself cleared things up. He replied to a discussion on the SK-Gaming.com forums where he says that he indeed intends to move to Germany after graduating from school to live in Germany and to be able to participate in the EPS. He most probably will not have enough time to win enough points before this season's "EAS hot phase" starts. RotterdaM's moving to Germany, consequently, is just a plan, for now.

Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi's statement:
"haha well it is like this. Some time ago I asked the admins if I could qualify or atleast play some games from the Netherlands and when i'm done with my work/school for this year I would move to Germany, but the admins said it wasn't possible and I have to finnish this year, so I couldnt play and gave the plans up. Yesterday, doso contacted me and said iIactually could play online some games and the quali and only have to move there when i'm done as long as it is before eps starts... so he told me to sign up and maybe I could play enough games before hot phase starts, but the thing is that I'm in Germany right now for RPC finals and can't play enough games to get enough points before the hotphase so I wont make it most likely, but doso told me to sign up and so I did, will see but don't count on me for the next season ;p not gonna make that ;*("

With the EPS offering more and more price money and becoming more professional within every following season, it's kind of obvious that many international players intend to move to - to earn a living, to become successful and to improve their gaming skills.

i don't think they(deadman +rotterdam+who ever want's also) should be allowed to play just because they live in germany. This competition should be for ger people only, to improve german players and help german scene expand. that's just my oppinion.

but ppl always said, that gemran players cant compete internationally because of the lack of competition in german leagues... well that would change a lot! ;)

#11 the German players would improve way more if the competition was bigger, for example with foreigners joining. I think them moving to Germany does expand German eSport.
