CPL Australia Announced

Its been a while since the CPL has made way to the Oceania part of the world, in fact 2002 was the last time we saw CPL action down under. That itself was the CPL Pacific qualifier and was a BYOC competition.
The event was held in 
Sydney and the cream of the crop of Australias CS talents were there to fight it out for a chance to go to Dallas, USA. Australian teams such as fzer0, nR, pantheon, Ui, iCHOR, sR and nK all attended. fzer0 won in the final over nR 13-6. fzer0 went to Dallas and they immediately drew attention with their infamous smoke grenades on de_cbble and their win over 
Team 3D (demo).
The Cyberathelete Professional League has announced two dates so far. June 9-10 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, labeled the Western Winter Showdown 2007 and Sydney Olympic Park will host a World Tour stop between October 12-14.
It hasn't been officially stated if the June competition (Western Winter Showdown) in Perth will be an Australian CPL National event or a CPL qualifier. The event in October at Sydney Olympic Park will be a World Tour stop joining the likes of Brazil, Korea and Sweden on the World Tour hosts list.
The games played at the World Tour will be Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake3 and Warcraft 3 DotA.
