The GGL has conducted a interview with the American Quake star
socrates_. The interview was done just recently and ask's questions about what got him to the Finals in Italy to what it will take to get to the level Toxic is on right now. The interview is a lengthy read but a great one. You can find a snippet below from the interview:
What key elements in your game pushed you to the podium, apart from being relaxed?
Being comfortable allowed me to aim exceptionally well. I thought my rail was good when I really needed it to be on Placebo Effect, which was the tiebreaker map vs. stermy and fox. I planned my practice schedule around not so much playing Galang and hoping I can get either Phrantic or Placebo as my third map. And when Placebo comes you had better hope your rail is in check.
Fox is smart and stermy relies on aim. So if I can outrail stermy and keep fox at bay with my rail on Placebo then I really have a good chance at winning. I got a substantial lead on them quickly and I was never really in a position where I thought I would lose it. So my aim on those maps was the key to me making it to where I got.
It was in the key rails that keep you barely in control but enough for you to actually do what you want to do and you are not there sitting in the corner hiding for armor and stuff like that.
