
The MAS-1 Gaming community is hosting a South, East and Asia StarLeague where the top 4 players from Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand will be invited to play. The league will take place on the Pro Gamers Tour Gateway, Op SSL channel. Here is the league format decided by the organizers:
This event will follow the exact same formal as the Korean Ongamenet StarLeague does. In this, 24 players are divided into 6 groups of 4 players each. Each member of a group will then play each other member of that group, and the Top 2 from each of the 6 groups will become the Top 12 seeds. 12-player Playoffs do not work very well however, so 4 more seeds are given out to the next best players (in this case, the Top 4 third place finishers in each group after they play a wildcard match). The playoffs are then a simple 16 player, single elimination bracket!
The first set of games took place earlier this week, but the next ones, Group C & D's games willt ake place on Friday & Saturday of this week. Most importantly, however, are those participating in this first non-korean Starleague:
