Gamers Assembly 2006 Results*

The Gamers Assembly is one of the most popular and prestigious LANs in France. The top teams of France fighted for hardware prizes with the value of 22000€ in the Counterstrike tournament!

The favorites were France Against All Authority, France GoodGame, France Hostile-clan, France Intensity, Netherlands Champions Esports Association and France 1619. But in the end those favorites were defeated by the France webOne team, who just won their first major LAN. So lets take a look at the final results;

    1. webOne (9.600€ in hardware prizes)
    2. Hostile-Clan (5.000€ in hardware prizes)
    3. Against All Authority (1.800€ in hardware prizes)
    4. atLanteam (1.500€ in hardware prizes)

As you can see neither GoodGame nor CeA nor Intensity did a good job there. So we might see a suprise at the upcoming French ESWC qualifier too. Still these results are quite unexpected. You can find the brackets here and the demos here.

In the final webOne defeated Hostile on de_nuke in a very close match with 16-13.

Beside the Counterstrike tournament - there was also a WarCraft 3 TFT tournament and several others, but let's take a look at the WC3 TFT results:

    1. Nightelves GG-Wolfy
    2. Undead AoD-FH.elquA
    3. Human AoD-FH.Sayen
    4. Human AoD-FH.Chobo

Noname managed to catch Wolfy for a quick interview on his performance and some other talks as well:

So Wolf, can you tell us your inital reaction to winning this prestgious tournament?
I'm feeling happy because as you said its a prestigious tournament and everyone underestimated me and it's a good feeling to show everyone i'm not down yet.

We'll get back to what you just said, but could you tell us a little bit about your opponents? As in how were the games, any moments where you thought you had lost it etc?
in fact the real tournament just started when I met chobo in semi final of the winner bracket he was my first " real " opponent I lost the first game on terenas stand and after which I won the two next after this I met elqua (Linkin) in final of the WB. I won 2/0 but actually the games were pretty close and then I won the big final 2/1 against elqua a beautiful final in my
opinion I did enjoy this final and also playing on the scene is a pure pleasure.

I see, you've been missing from the international scene for quite sometime so
is this your comeback?

No I dont think so, in fact I want to take a break from the game and I want to work for school. I mean, I'm not bad at school but the better you are better it is so I want to improve. Of course if I have time to mix school and game I will do both but I don't think I have enough time.

Right so anyway, you said many would have underestimated you, what makes you say that?
In fact a lot of people are underestimating me in france just because I finished 3rd at a french lan lately where tod didnt take part so they think I'm falling down and think I am not the best french player after ToD. I saw a lot of players saying " wolf ? I dont even see him top 4 or top 6 ". So now it's even better to finish first, I think I won't be able to take the first spot in france due to tod, but I'm the best player after him. At least this is my point of view

Well thats about it would you like to say a few things before we close this small interview?
YeahI had like to thank grubby because I learnt a lot about the game (with respect to Psychology) from him. I had like to thank ToD because he's always supporting me. I want to thank goodgame all my mates, everyone that supports me (even if I am winning or losing) all my friends (NuKe FaTC etc..) as well as GG-Sabian and NetG-Asuka for their continonus support and you for the interview

Thanks a lot Wolf and we hope to hear from you in the near future again!

Even though it was quite silent around GG-Wolfy, he was able to defeat elquA to win this LAN. You can find more infos at esportfrance.com.

I think Chobo plays for AoD,too.
Besides this good job, I am really disappointed by CEA ( now Tempclan ), hopefully they play better under their new flag.
