| "What makes BWTV so unique is also what makes the Head Administrator of GosuGamers shriek from excitement when hearing that the program has finally been reannounced; the live stream. BWTV reads a replay file from the BWTV server and simulates the match in the client's computer. A video stream does this, though the main difference between BWTV and a classical Video Stream is that a replay file is around 100 kb while a video file in the same quality can be several hundred megabytes." Mazor from Gosugamers.net |
A rather long quote from Mazor but well worth reading every letter put into this well thought out article and program. If you want to see exactly what this program can do, follow the 5 steps to StarCraft pleasure. First, Download the latest BW Launcher. Secondly, download the BWTV Observer program. Thirdly (is that even a word?), extract into your starcraft folder and launch the launcher! Fourthly, follow these steps closely. Select BWTV Observer and check the box called "Load on start". Click configure and set BW mode to 800x600 and make sure that "Unit Selecting", "Unit Pinging" and "Screen Interpolating" in order to have yourself a first person mode. Those coming directly from the programmer himself. Finally!, use G or N to pick who you want to watch.
So if you thought Broodwar was a game of the past. Prepare for a blast from present technology to bring the best events right to your computer.
