DreamHack Winter!

Don't let the name confuse you, DreamHack is the worlds biggest Lan (according to Guiness book of World Records). Located in Sweden in a city called Jönköping this event will rival that of World Cyber Games. Just 4 days after World Cyber Games ends the 24th to the 27th, the players will gather once more. The prize money isn't as big but the competition is just as tough.

Gosugamers.net seems to be the main guys when it comes to this event. Always helping out they have some of thier main admins being ref's and some doing the Shoutcasting. This though, is not only about Starcraft, but another one of the great Blizzard saga games. Warcraft III, to many the games are the perfect match, to others it's a war with skill going against speed and skill. Some of the best Nordic players should be showing up, such as Mireille and Daaman who played each other during the summer for the Prize money.

I'm not 100% aware of which WC3 players will be showing up but by going through some of the people on Broodwar saying it should equal or surpass the players.

The tickets are a fair ammount of money 650 SEK -> 68€ -> 80$(According to poGDI @ GG.net), the tickets go on sale Tomorrow!. It will be well worth it though, the prize money and just seeing the top players going head to head. Sadly though, there is no computer rental which is a big draw back but maybe someone you know could be nice enough to lend you a computer!

So if you can't make it to BlizZcon, if you still can't make it to Singapore to watch World Cyber Games. Make your way to Sweden for the worlds biggest lan that is sure to be worth the trip and the memories.

I've been at DH since it first come to Jönköping, live there so why not...DH is a very good organised event and it is true, at Winter events there is more coding and priograming then gaming but still decent tournaments. The thing is that DH-admin decided to lower the gaming and put more concentration to programming becouse of last winters low age, the average was 14 years old becouse of the CS-tournaments. Therefor they decided not to hold that many of em....so for the gamers out there, grow up:P
