Remind and Susiria barred 4 Playdays in the WC3L

Late last night it was announced on wc3l's homepage that the two prominent Korea, South players 3WD.Remind and mYm|Susiria will receive a four play-day disbarrement from the WC3L.

Both players were in violation of rule 1.c. which states:
" Each player belongs to one and only one clan within the WC3L. Furthermore a player is not allowed to play in another online-event with prize-money for another clan than his WC3L-clan. Player's are responsible to know if the event provides prize-money or not. Violating this rule will automaticcaly lead to a 4 playday exclusion from the current competition stage beginning with the day an ESL WC3L Series Headadmin or Supervisor is notified about the matter."

Both players had been under investigation since earlier this week where a complaint was filed, stating that 5 or more korean players were in violation of the forementioned rule. HeadAdmin of the WC3L, Germany Basci, undertook the task of investegating the matter, where the key to the investegation was wether or not the +5 players had played round 7 of the xp-cup, because this took place after the introduction of the season 7 rules, which were uploaded on january 6th.

This may seem harsh, but rules however rules and I applaud the WC3L for upholding the written rules. I myself was very early in process made aware of the dilemma, and engaged in talks with Germany Baschi several times during the course of this investegation, which was conducted in a very fair and pragmatic manner.

Who's at fault?
I can only speak on behalf of Korea, South mYm|Susiria and in his case the fault lies with Denmark mYm|Nordahl and myself, as it is our responsibility to make players aware of rule changes, which can have influence on their normal gaming patern. We however were not aware that the rules would apply before the start of the season, but alas this was not the case and we are of course berived and apologize for our failure. Which has caused mYm's most succesfull player last season, to undergo a 4 playday quarentine.

Consequences?
Of course its a big setback not having a key-player like Korea, South mYm|Susiria available during the start of the upcoming season. We spoke with Korea, South mYm|Susiria 2 days ago and made him aware of the situation and he was very upset about the whole perdicament, but has of course come to terms with the situation and he will return to the lineup after he has served the 4 Playdays Penalty. On a positive note for all the Korea, South mYm|Susiria fans, he expressed that he would like to play some more European tours, like Incup and WC3M so you hopefully wont forget about him in this period of time.

Nordahl and myself has had some time to make some damage assement and have already prepared new strategies for the upcoming clan wars, and hopefully this will lessen the impact of Korea, South mYm|Susiria absence. This will not mean any roster changes whatsover, seeing as we have multiple options with the current roster, and several competent players to fill in where need be.

On a sidenote Korea, South mYm|Susiria did not play round out of a competetive wish, he had already forfeited 6 matches, but because he was helping a friend record a VOD.

To all the Korea, South mYm|Susiria fans and Korea, South mYm|Susira himself

Im sorry -mYm|Quinine

Wow, professional attitude by MYM. Goes to show why they do so well in acquiring sponsors.

BTW, I don't get the sidenote at the end of the newsitem, but I suppose that it's about XP cup.

It still seems odd to me to make rules for a season, and then having them apply before the season start, but I guess this is just something we will have to accept.

I can't say i agree to the bans, none of them, regardless which team it implicates... One of the main reasons for that is that you can't apply a rule to the WC3L rules set the 8th of January and then force players that have participating in a tournament, which started back in December, to leave a tour just beacuse they come up with new restrictions.

Imagine a country's football union or fifa making a new rule that would make several players leave their teams in Champions League, just because they "think" their particular league benefits from that change.

And the worst thing is that in Susiria's case WeRRa is just a fun team that consists of friends, not a progaming team. It's great to have leagues telling players what they can do in their sparetime and punish them for that......not. If in susiria's case he would have played in that onlinetour for Hanbitsoft, i would think otherwise as I could then see a tiny little sense in it, even though i do not agree to this in anyway and never will.

The wc3l news post on this is very misleading... It led the reader to believe that he played in an online cash tourn "for another clan." I read the news post just a few minutes after it was posted and expressed i thought a four day bar was being generous...

Then it's revealed that it is just a solo tourn like incup, wc3m. How lame. I played wc3l quali under the handle Legato[CF] entire time, and they said nothing (Name had yellow ggl tag, but whatever).

Well, Mercy, it is true that he isn't really representing a serious clan in using that nickname, and I have stated that on other sites too. And it's a bit frustrating that the rule has to count for solo tournaments. But I can understand that the rule has to count off-season too, because that's also a part of how invested players are in their teams. I mean, if a player joined your team and still played in a clanleague off-season after that he'd still be kind of a mercenary (still, I don't think it's the same with a sololeague, but WC3L do). So, I can understand that part.

I have to correct you when you say that it forces players to leave a tournament. They can simply chance nickname, as WC3L admin noted, they don't have to leave.
