BlizzCon 2008: Lyn and sAviOr win the tournaments

This coming weekend, on October 10th and 11th, Anaheim, South California, USA will be home of yet another edition of the Blizzard Blizzcon which has been sold out for weeks already - of course! Emotions are bound to run high during to this event, and everyone will have a chance to see some of the best players in the world in action on a number of diffe
rent Blizzard games, like Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, StarCraft: BroodWar and World of WarCraft Arena.
In general the Blizzcon was supposed to be 'just' an invite torunament to celebrate Blizzard top games. This year players for the WarCraft 3 tournament qualified through the Battle.net Season 6 which included offline regional finals. But only having an eSports tournament would be boring and Blizzard wouldn't be Blizzard if they didn't care about their millions of fans and causual players all over the world. So it is a common thing that Blizzcon is used to present current development updates on Blizzard games and giving fans the chance to get in contact with the developers.
What can you expect from this year's BlizzCon? Here are some of the activities that the participants can attend next to press conferences - a lot of things in the list are new and have never been done before on a Blizzard event:
• Discussion panels with Blizzard developers about Diablo III, StarCraft II
• Artist and developer signings
• Diorama Contest
• Original Song Contest and Movie Contest
• Commemorative merchandise and other products based on the Blizzard franchises
• Costume Contest and Dance Contest
• Silly Contest
• StarCraft II testing session
• new Blizzard Goody Bag
BlizzCon will take place on October 10th and 11th, but on 9th of October there will be for the second time the Blizzard RTS Community Summit. There, heads from Blizzard fansites are invited - including myMYM's Content Supervisior 
Jonas 'The1Crow' Gebhardt - representing websites like GosuGamers, SCLegacy, TeamLiquid and also Diablo and WoW pages. On that RTS Summit the invited people will get in contact with the guys behind Blizzard and ask them related questions at the new Blizzard headquarters. Further a discussion will take place about eSports, its community and Blizzard.
For now myMYM.com starts its pre-event coverage with a WarCraft 3 preview wirtten by 
Mirhi who is always your man when it comes about predicting events!
