Yesterday readmore.de broke the news about the prizemoney for World Cyber Games, that is going to be held in Cologne, Germany this November. The total amount of money being spread amongst the games, is $470,000.

Almost a fourth of that amount will go to the WCG's prime franchise, Counter-Strike 1.6, which has gotten a total of $102,500. The winners in that tournament wll sure hit the jackpot, as the $50,000 prize purse is this year's biggest. Meanwhile, WC3 has $32,500 in that tournament, of which the winner will take over half of it; $19,000.

It is noteworthy that there is only cash-prizes for top three - in every game. Beyound that placement, the prizes consist of hardware. Thus a big chunk of the overall prizemoney ($59,000), will not be paid out, but be distributed as sponsored products.
