ESWC 09: DotA is not out

It didn't take long before the ESWC's announcement of the chosen games for the 2009-season turned into a nightmare for the DotA-community. While the 2008-season had seen the game be a part of the official setup, there was no sign of DotA in the coming year's plans.
In a recent interview with Carmac, Matthieu Dallon - CEO of GameServices - the company behind ESWC, says that DotA is still in the mix. In fact, there is still room at ESWC 2009 for titles like World of Warcraft, Call of Duty 4 or DotA.
- [..]the line-up is open to games like DotA or WoW and COD4 – we work on those possibilities. Starcraft II will probably be selected when released, next year, next season[..]
The interview goes far beyond game-choices though, and Dallon comes across as a true eSports-entrepeneur swinging left and right against event-franchises that are trying to push it too hard.
- With all the respect I have for people that try to do things, maybe some of them didn’t play hard enough to go pro, others mixed up guitars and rails, others considered e-sport just as business. E-sport shall remain an ideal.

They never said that dota will not be added. They simply said that they will look at possibilities for RPGish game which could be dota, WoW or other games. There is no need to freak out about it and flame others.

let's hope eswc will never takes place in US again so teams from Asia and other countries can participate without getting visa problems

well let's just hope that the later dota versions will be exciting.
I just noticed a a great difference in action between 6.48b games and those played in 6.52e and beyond. friends may come and go, enemies accumulate... gg
