Hanbit Stars have been driving on a rocky road for a while and just when things couldn’t get any worse, Hanbit Soft sold the team to ItemMania, which is an online item store for RPG/MMO games. The president of ItemMania, Lee Jung Hun believed that “It is a first step to contribute to game business and I thought it would be good for our business.”

Hanbit Stars is a very old team and they were the first team to win the first ProLeague, but over time they started to go down the spiral of failure by placing 10th at last years ProLeague. The team has no star player like
sAviOr of CJ Entus or
NaDa of WeMade FOX besides
free who is barely ranked on KeSPA.

The dark stormy clouds were starting to dissolve and the sun will shine in for the players of Hanbit… NOT. KeSPA needs to approve each teams’ head sponsors and they rejected ItemMania. The KeSPA committee tried to persuade Hanbit Soft to reject the contract with ItemMania and let KeSPA manage the team until the next season of ProLeague. The players and head coach wanted the same salary that they will receive from Hanbit Stars or ItemMania if KeSPA takes over. KeSPA didn’t accept ItemMania on the sole purpose that ItemMania is a shopping site for items for RPG/MMO games.
Days later, Hanbit Soft accepted KeSPA to take over the team until the next season of ProLeague and the players will receive the same salary as before. During the time, KeSPA will try to find a sponsor for the players, but if they don’t find one until the end of September, then Hanbit Stars will disband. As for ItemMania, they stated they will try to form a new team and hope to be accepted by KeSPA.

The primary problem is they don't have anything to brag in order to lure a sponsor.

Really sad if a solution is not found. Hanbit is a piece of Korean Esports history. You all remember where Lucifer, Susiria etc. come from right?

never was a fan of hanbit, well basically didnt care much as focus was always on ktf, skt1, lecaf, cj and such teams, as for the rest...still they are a part of sc history so it would be a shame if they vanish.
