MYM parts ways with their FIFA team

fifa, mark peter fries, mym

Early February this year MYM decided to take in a FIFA team, but after a turbulent half-year with good online results and lacking offline results, a mutual decision has been made to part ways with the team.

Denmark Mark P. Fries, COO from MYM said:

"All players in the team are great guys, so us parting with the team as a whole is not about lacking chemistry or professional attitudes, it's all about performance. Every player or team that signs the dotted line with a team like ours, know what we demand and what the criterias are to keep on being on contract -> Perform well and win! Some performed well, some not, but overall we expected more from the team in terms of LAN winnings and also from the game and community itself and hence none of that being present or happening, we decided to part ways in a friendly way. Additionally we must say that FIFA outside of Germany simply is a to small community with to few events, to little prize-money and thus to little a game for a team like ours."

We wish them all the best.

We did, but overrated the Spanish scene and possible upcoming LANs and events (Some not yet published, but were suppoed to be big) And since they didnt surface with withdraw.

While SC may have a bigger community, they still lack the tournaments and LANs. Will SC be cut too? :O

SC is gaining plenty of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and are also doing pretty good in earnings, so there would be no reason to do so.

Even still, there is only 3 LAN events: WCG, ASUS, and DreamHack. Even FIFA had more than that. FIFA is just harder for a team to stand out in than SC as there are relatively few SC teams left at the top.

What are you talking about? There is also all blizzards events, AIF, IEF, IEST and many more....There are plenty of events for SC, 2-3 times as many as there are for FIFA...

I am talking about offline events, not only online. FIFA placed 2nd at T-EX, based on that we had 4 players there. At AEF the best placed 5-6th again based on we had 4 players there - that in my book is fare from good enough.

SC has had plenty of wins offline and online at numerous ASUS lans, Dreamhack, Blizzard events, chinese AIF, IEF and and and, so there is a world of difference between FIFA and SC in all aspects.

I can understand every single reason in the statement, but i think we are also far from "lacking offline results". Being 3 players into Top8, with 1 player in top2, with the grid bracket we had, it's quite a good result. Besides, we were for far the best result "as a team". I'm sure of that.

It's fair anyway to say that we performed horribly at AEF, much further than expected. But probably the ranks were very also far from the reality. Losing 2 players after 2 penalty shootouts in the round of 16, vs Top2 and Top3, and really unluckily it's something no one can control.

So i think it's also fair from ourselves to deffend we aren't as bad as it can seem in this piece of news. I'm really proud of having deffended mym colours the way i did, and also did my mates. And the fifa scene knows it.

The thing that really hurt me is "We did, but overrated the Spanish scene", if it's said about the level of the players. If it's said about size, and other reasons, i understand and respect everything.

I wish good luck to everyone at my former club.

It's not about the level, it is about the size and exposure.

Stop, we are out of MYM, we were not good enough for them. FIFA is really random we did our best but nobody cares even we play yearly a diff game. Anyway we will get our performance to other team ;)

Cheers.

U can't compare FIFA with SC because we only had 3 chances.

Very sad news and very sad statement/reason in my opinion. The FIFA community is growing day after day and the results of MYM are not bad at all unless you wanted the FIFA team to win everything, but i think there are not heroes.

Also not only german is on top of tops. In Russia you have FIFA lans every weekend, and we cant also ignore Poland and Romania. Besides this is a WCG game, there are online tournaments everywhere. ESL Pro Series is becoming a reality in many countries as well. There are more stuff but dont need to be longer.

As Excello manager i feel sad about understimate the FIFA scene where i belong and also work as ESL admin for many time.

Just an humble opinion as you have the power to decide, anyway you are losing a regular visitor in your website with this loss in FIFA scene.

GL both parts

Thank you for support NoFx, today and during all the time we were here.

Probably german scene will be always a step in front of the rest, but... if some of the rest have already catched them on level (although i think germans still don't believe it), won't they catch them also on size soon? We will see, or at least, some of you :P

Didn`t expect this, nevertheless it`s a logical decision if you consider the unlogical manner in which big organisations understand to handle the FIFA scene, or the FIFA teams that are lucky enough to represent their flags(for short periods of time).Should have thought more about investing some time in a fifa team which has brought you 1st place in the best-rated online TEAMS COMPETITIONS, the EMS.Why else would you take a whole fifa squad, and not only one or two players, if you do not aim these type of titles? Why not trying to hold on to exceptional players such as AleX, Delfin, Typhoon and so on? Why give up to being represented by at least !!! 2 players in each year`s WCG Grand Final? The answer is simple, obviously you are unaware of the things which happen in the fifa-scene and in the same time you care more about short-term performance than building something which will worth it on mid to long-term.

Be sure to stay tuned to this year`s ENC finals for FIFA 08, and then you`ll be forced to admit you were wrong by saying "Additionally we must say that FIFA outside of Germany simply is a to small community ..."

Good luck EFS !! you are all great guys

It was an ironic comment to: Be sure to stay tuned to this year`s ENC finals for FIFA 08, and then you`ll be forced to admit you were wrong by saying "Additionally we must say that FIFA outside of Germany simply is a to small community ..."

Because ENC is only made because of Germans, planned by Germans, paid by Germans and hosted by Germans - in Germany.

By germans, for EVERY NATION, so a european event, important events for the FIFA community. And we weren't wrong because that word were not given from us, my words not appears on the news, something is really sad not being able to say goodbye MYM.

From my side, this is a CLOSED topic.

Exists lots of countries, and Spain is one of those that has their own ESL leagues, being one of the biggest from Europe.
