Morg talks about CoD4 Promod
The long anticipated Promod for Call of Duty 4 is in its beta phase and will be released in around one week. One of the main developers, who is none other than MeetYourMakers Call of Duty 4 Manager 
Robert 'Morg' Black, got interviewed by cod4network.com.
There are two really big things missing that keep Call of Duty 4 away from being a really big game. First there is CoDTV (Counter Strike 1.6 has HLTV) which would make the game even more famous and interesting for players of other games and of course the Call of Duty4 community itself. The other thing is called 'Promod' which will be a Mod with many fixes that Infinity Ward developers didn't make in their recent patches.
What was your goal for the ProMod? Well it came about from frustration of not having a unified ruleset, even in some of the EU leagues they use a slightly different ruleset than the one used by the pro teams and top players. This made me think about where CoD4 is going in general. In the EU there had been a lot of talk about CoD4 dieing and people should be playing CoD5 because of cvar bug abuse(luckily this has been fixed now) that and there are still a lot of bugs and silly things in CoD4 PAM that makes the game frustrating to play on a competitive level. [...] Are there any certain european teams you expect to win the tournaments? Well theres a wealth of talent in EU when it comes to CoD4, and its also pretty close. The top teams in EU are shaping up to be Dignitas, fnatic, MYM, Tek9, SpeedLink, Reason Gaming and KomaCrew. At this stage I can see any of these teams winning a summer LAN, and all of them will certainly be in the running for a top place finnish. |
