H2k wins the final Final of the EuroCup XVII tonight

The grand final of the Call of Duty 4 EuroCup XVII chapter II is going live tonight. After beating the French team  France H2k.Termaltake quite easily with 25:15, everybody thought that the number one team of Germany Germany SPEED-LINK is the winner of this years EuroCup, but it isn''t.

The league which stood as the showcase of the Call of Duty series since the beginning of 2003 finds itself on a crossroad between good and bad. All started when Sweden fnatic denied to play this years EuroCup. The groupstages went as they should but when the playoffs started it all became different.

When the teams of France H2k.Termaltake and United Kingd- Dignitas faced each other in the upperbracket final, the player Netherlands Bas 'Sko' Dirks played with a punkbusterguid which wasn't on his Clanbase profile. Therefore the French team accused Dignitas of playing with a back-up. After some investigations the team of H2k recieved a defwin to advance into the grand final. Now it was time for the consolation final between United Kingd- Dignitas and Germany SPEED-LINK. After the match against H2k, the British team left the EuroCup and gave team SL a defwin.

It was Wednesday the 18th of June when tonight's opponents met for the first time on mp_strike and mp_district. Team SPEED-LINK dominated both maps and won as stated above. After this match, even the Clanbase website called SPEED-LINK as the winner of the EuroCup XVII. Well, after 15 minutes there was a new newspost on their site which said that SPEED-LINK has to win two matches since they come from the lowerbracket. It really has been a controversial EuroCup this year and Clanbase has to deal with many teams denying to play the next.

So tonight it is the final match of this edition when both teams meat again to fight for glory. The match starts around 19:30.
