TH000 - Grubby's excuse made me laugh

Recently, rumors were rife about the conduct of Grubby at the recently culminated WC3L playoffs and is presently the topic of controversy.

Meanwhile, others have also been comparing this issue with a similar situation that transpired at ROTK. Replays.net has made an interview with China Human wNv.TH000 who was involved in that issue, and myMYM has translated it for our English readers.

Q: Several days ago, Grubby mentioned that you watched the replay during the match where you played against him at ROTK and you got away with that, which may make him think that you got away scott-free. Do you think there's any truth there?

A: First, I want to say that I did not watch the replay at ROTK like he said, which can be proved by Fly100%, Sky and xiaOt who asked me to go away when they were watching the replay. He should also be able to tell if I watched his replay, since he played so many games. His (Grubby) excuse really made me laugh.

Q: The issue is that whether you had watched the replay with your clanmates, so what happened at that moment? Have you watched the replay?

A: As i said i did not. It's very bad to watch a saved replay and if i had done that i should have been given a loss. He insisted a regame due to a one-second pause before which i had a big adavantage.

After a two-hour argument, the conclusion from the referee was that he forfeited the match because the referee didn't allow a regame. Then he came to shake hands with me because he was not angry with me, but the organizer as he said. But what surprised me is that he mentioned that I had watched the rep at some forums recently.

Q: Do you think your pause-behavior is a violation of the rules and should be punished?

A: Yeah, I did violate the rules and due to that I got a warning from the referee. I think it's enough. But personally, I think the rule is far-fetched; how can you inform the referee before an emergency....maybe it could be the situation that you can't use your tp which may lead you to a loss. I will never agree with a regame because of the 1-second pause or maybe i will agree if he wanted me not to move anything for 1-5 seconds ^_^ . After all, a defwin is not decided by the players.

Q: What do you think of the conduct by Grubby that he watched a saved replay at WC3L playoffs?

A: In my opinion, the referees sided with foreign players too much. How can he get away because he had only watched for 2-3 mins? Pro-gamers often watch the rep with 8x speed. I can't imagine what the situation would be, and I think only MYM would know what happened. I'm very disappointed.

So he did not watched the replay. I admit, I was wrong.

About that 2-3 minutes, TT 2-3 MINUTES INGAME !!! even if he watched it with x8 speed that would mean that he watched the replay for a few seconds (real time)

Anyway, it's over and done. grub lost face with this incident and even more with his statement, even more after TH000 clarified that he did not watch the replay.

I still think a nice clean I'm sorry would have done a lot more good than all that soap opera he made.

Well, he did said that he watched only 2-3 minutes, but due to this it's gonna be hard to believe Grubby, but how can you prove that he didn't.

About this... Maybe Grubby didn't see that TH000 was/wasn't watching the game, but heard it from someone (who has seen TH000 in the near when the replay was watched and assumed that TH000 himself watched it) who he trusted enough to believe in it. But that's only one possible scenario.

Indeed its a little hard to believe his words after what he said and what he did.

Yeah i suppose he jumped to conclusions like others did as well. Still going in a public statement with assumptions is not a good idea, as you can see.

this thing has to be the drama of the month!! I'm curious what's the July's drama :).

Grubby can't confirm that he watched it only for 2-3 mins but nobody can tell that he watched it for longer ether, his word against yours, or somebody elses.

Yeah i suppose he jumped to conclusions like others did as well. Still going in a public statement with assumptions is not a good idea, as you can see.

If my scenario is right, than Manuel trust others too much, like he did with TaiLong.

Still we can only assume whats going on until the official statement.

yeap, you are right it's his word against 'mine' (so to speak) but it seems that the words from Grubby weight kind of light due recent events.

It would be funny to have Grubby make yet another statement explaining why he said that about TH000.. haha.
I told you it's like one of those never ending dramas. " young and restless, dynasty, bold and beautiful, just to name a few. They go on and on and on.. LOL.

Bias in which way? Which way have you ruled if this match was between ToD vs Grubby and you were admin? and which you honestly think it would have been the best decision and fairest as well.

bias in the way that all the players u quoted are chinese and taking into acount that China is widely considered as a nationalist country (to say the least). Now im not saying that the decision taken was right or wrong but bringing on the table that 3 chinese players are backing up an other chinese player doesn't seem very relevant as an argument. The point is you were not there, me neither and if u are right to take grubby's statement cautiously u should do the same with Thooo's. "WnW"|vbadgirl is it ? talking about bias, aren't u manager of Thooo's team ? :D

Yeah sure he is my player but you don't exactly see me saying TH000 is innocent and he did no mistake. Sky, Fly and xiaot might be chinese but ROTK is after all a chinese tour.

I find it funny that you basically call them liers just because chinese are nationalists and because well.. they are chinese!. Good logic you got there.

It is as illogical as saying that they tell the truth because they're actually not from the same team....anyway that's not really the point, I'm just saying that whether it's grubby's statement or Thooo's it remains someone's words against someone else's. Having both side of a story doesn't mean one can reach any conclusion regarding its thruthfulness.
As for your questions, I fail to find them any relevance, even though I'm french, I don't like ToD, so I wouldn't have condemned Grubby for patriotic reasons. What would have been the best decision ? well Grubby didn't break any rules so no action could have been taken anyways. Still, he did wrong I absolutely agree with that, but on the other hand he acknowledges it and apologised. I think few players would have behaved the same way.

it was just an example with ToD, it could be.. Xyligan (human as well). I wanted to pick an european vs european so your bias judgment be minimized.

I didnt pick ToD because you are french and you would favor him but because he is European and Human player.

just the same way as you would never prove your teammates to be wrong. that's the reason those decisions should be made by independent persons, who aren't sided.

and btw nofuture did answer your question. you just should actually read what he said.

What would have been the best decision ? well Grubby didn't break any rules so no action could have been taken anyways.

hmm perhaps you need to read again before telling me to read. I have asked him how he would have ruled in the case of TH000 vs Grubby not the 2v2 between mym and mouz.

Anyway, Sky and Fly are the impartial person because they don't belong to the same team. They can ce considered neutral and saying they arent just because they are chinese or some patriotism it's far fetched.

It's the same as everybody would say about you that you're a nazi coz hitler was a nazi and he was german.. therefore you are one too. I'm sure you wouldn't like this, would you? ;). Generalization is not the best way i can assure you that.

come on, grubby is in asia a scapegoat and apparently you don't need actual facts to get support in this comunity these days .
but again all this crap does not matter, cause you can't punish someone for acting according to the rulez. if you want him get punished for this behaviour, then talk to the officials before the tournament and ask them to integrate into the rulebook. *period*

all you do is babbling nonsense to destroy his reputation. that doesn't change anything in the fact, that the administration acted as they did (and the did right to my point of view) and it doesn't help the comunity either.
If you want to blame someone of false behaviour (although in can't be punished by rulez) then start with thooo, what he did to grubby in ROTK.
Although Thooo is my favourite player atm, this is as bad as that thing what grubby did. so clean you own closet first, before requesting others to clean theirs...

Sure is neutral why wouldn't he be. He is from another team and respected in the community as well as Sky is.

As for Grubby being a scapegoat hahah (i like the term i must say :p ) it's not true. Grubby has in fact a lot of Chinese fans who support him blindly just the same you do. He isn't hated or looked down because he is european but on the contrary.

As for his reputation and me blabling some words, well he doesnt needs my words to ruin his reputation he does a great job on his own.

If you believe that watching something secretively compares with pausing a game then our talk is done right here.

hahah he unpaused because of a mistake as he was trying to save the game. If u actually had the curiosity to watch the replay (which i bet u didnt) u'll know the pause-unpause was only a fraction of a second, not enough to give th000 any advantage. What grubby was saying at the time was just BS and searching for a re-match excuse because that game was a disgrace for any orc player. What orc loses to a human on a highly biased orc map? well apparently Grubby.
