It was made apparent a few weeks ago that
KomaCrew's long standing member and key player
Kasparov will no longer be able to stay with the team. He informed the team of his decision explaining that he is no longer motivated to play Call of Duty 4 and that he has some personal commitments that have arisen.
The KomaCrew team has had a very successful time online recently, being in top form since they moved from the organisation dcc to their current home. In May they have finished off a string of impressive results, beating
eSuba in the Grand Final of the most prestigious CoD4 Online Cup - CoDQCup. This as well as continued good performances in the ClanBase Eurocup XVII playoffs, have caused a stir in the community about this team that is yet to be tested at LAN. However, with the ACER LAN happening at the WZZRD gaming centre in
Enschede this weekend, the team will be aching to show us what they have.
What could cause them problems this weekend is the integration of the new player
toxjee. For any team within Call of Duty 4 the key is in teamwork and a certain spark that comes with playing with that team. That spark has certainly been apparent in the recent form of KomaCrew. Bringing in
Nick "Toxjee" Hol seems like a good move none the less, as he has experience in playing with
Mofje from Wave and NoID.
The team is expected to win this weekend at ACER, but time will tell if the new line up is able to cut the mustard. Expect to see these boys hit the summer scheduled LANs hard.
KomaCrew's new lineup:
Kevin "svo" de Groot
Roman "roman" Semjonov
Alexander "Mofje" K
Pieter "Pietje" Bijl
Nick "toxjee" Hol
Team Statements:-
svo "Since a couple of weeks kasparov was not really active and motivated and so we asked him what's up and he decided to stop gaming. We immediately started to play with some other people and toxjee was the person who fit in great. With the replacement of kasparov with toxjee we believe our team has a great extra player and with some training will be better than before. Good luck to youri, I've been playing with him for 10 months or so and he is a great guy and I wish him lots of love with kyra<3 :D" toxjee "After Kasparov left KomaCrew I was contacted by my old team mate, mofje, whom I'd played with before in wave/edit/noid. I was asked to play with the guys in KomaCrew due to the fact that they needed a replacement for the upcoming Summer LAN season. After playing together with the guys from KomaCrew for a few days it was obvious that I was fitting into their style of play perfectly. Kevin asked me to join a few weeks later, and naturally I said yes: to join the best Dutch team (on paper) at the moment was hard to refuse. I hope to see everybody at both the upcoming Acer Challenge and the Antwerp Esports Festival. Shoutouts to Tim Denton, he is sexy!"
