WCG China announces wildcard tournament
Similar to 2007, the World Cyber Games administration will hold a wildcard tournament for China's finest Warcraft 3 players. All games will be held online starting from the 4th of March 2008.
However, a slight tweak is made to the tournament system. With a growing popularity for double elimination in groupstages, the WCG will follow a similar format in this tournament. The matches will be played in a best-of-1 format in the groupstages, while the single elimination round will employ a best-of-3.
The remaining 3 players of this tournament will receive an auto-berth in the national qualifiers of WCG China.
Two-time gold medalist and WCG2007 silver medalist, 
WE.Sky has automatically been invited to play in the national qualifiers.
