The last couple of weeks have been an up and down road for Counter-Strike 1.6 across the world, which has been witnessed, as many behind the scene saw a clear sign of resignation, or in other words a kind of goodbye for the game, which throughout nearly ten years has been the part of many gamers lives.

Even though some people stand up and fight back against this development, some have predicted that in the future, CS 1.6 could be on it's way out and others that this is going the other way. However, EYEBALLERS announced today that after a mutual agreement have decided to close their CS 1.6 section. This is according to one of the parties (EYE) due to the lack of results as well as the players in the team wanted a new challenge, which should be related to trying another team or even other eSports related happenings.

The team consisted of the following five players:

According to threat, the team in some kind of way already decided to stop playing after a failure at Dreamhack Winter 2007, where the team only reached the 7th place without making any big results on their way. Threat ended his shout by thanking those players who had been a part of EYE aswell as those players who were a part of Begrip.se, which in both cases nearly consisted of the same lineups.

Team manager Zoi explained in a statement:

The above mentioned statement is in threat's eyes however not the truth. Threat told Fragbite.com that this was all due to a final decision made by the players, and not a mutual agreement as written in the statement. We wish the players and EYE-organization the best luck for the future, even though both parties will be going in different directions (players going to new teams, and EYE focusing on other games such as Call of Duty 4)
