WCG 2008 without DotA

You all know that the WCG, World Cyber Games, is the biggest eSports event in the world.
You all know that there are a lot of game titles already proposed as candidates of the WCG 2008 official games by WCG National Organizers.
And unfotunatety you also know that DotA Allstars is not one of the games which are already on the list.

But I know as well that if we want something we must struggle for it!

How?

Well I can show you! There is already an enterprise about this. All you need to do is write an email to the WCG National Organizers showing them that DotA has a great community, that there are a lot of players, and of course, that DotA is the best game and that we all love it!

You can do it following this link going to WCG Tournament and sending them an email with your ideas.

If DotA recieves a chance to be certified, all we have to thank is ourselves!

Denmark Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen had this to say about this:

Maelk

"I think DotA deserves it, but as long as Blizzard doesn't officially support it I don't think it stands a chance of getting into WCG. I don't believe we need it either, though. WCG has proven to be a failure in so many ways the past few years."

As Jacob \"Maelk\" Toft-Andersen said, DotA deserves this chance, but I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m not sure at all that DotA will receive it. By the way, I guess this is our only chance, so we have to work for it.

lol what link?

nice attempt to get dota internationally recognized. agree with maelk. if blizzard doesnt want to officially support it, i doubt it will be internationally recognized. it's like CS and Valve ))

To be honest I think that besides this year (and maybe 2004 with the flashbugs), WCG has proved to be the most professional organization in e-Sports. The money of CGS aside, WCG has established a tournament which - when not held in lousy cities in the middle of no-where - draws hundreds of thousands of people as spectators and players. That's an accomplishment!

Even more, it wouldn't make any sense to help promote a game which isn't officially supported by the publisher of it.

eh? it's sad? actually it's nothing special just a normal fair thing, dota is not competitive game and doesn't require skill as much as other games do and that's not news, sad that some ****** keep saying opposite things and always get owned when it comes to argues ... gj wcg
dota on wcg lol.. dota players should go to church 10 times per day to thank god for dota being atleast on few tournaments, tho the game doesn't even deserve it.
This all stuff just makes me laugh, seriously, especially when Maelk saying wcg sux (cuz they didn't add dota to 2008 games list) ... what a joke :) Maelk better go learn tetris? People like you will never get respection and good reputation in eyes of normal people due to the things u achieved, being pro in dota? = means nothing.

dota is no stategy.no mind no micro skills and no macro. they are no need dota in wcg.

dota is unbalance game

dota is sack and dota is for noobs only

creating dota is for noobs people.that they dont know to micro and macro skills. and they not use mind. because dota is for noobs only.there are professional player in dota. it was a unbalance match. dota is for noob

but ladder game, for professional player :)

WCG has only failed in unstable countries, like in the Middle East or some parts of South America...

DotA is a great game and does require a lot of skill, being the top DotA team is basically just as hard as being the top CS team, It's just that the play style of DotA compared to WCIII and CS is unique and most don't like to play/watch DotA games. Actually, Blizzard does show a bit of support for DotA, at Blizzcon there is always a DotA tournament (although small). Until DotA gets included into a great league such as WCG, it can't really be recognized as a competitive esport by most.

Never try to say something about a game when you never tried to play it seriously and correctly.

You're right when you said DotA is not supported by Blizzard.

That is one of the reasons why DotA isn't in WCG.

#14 BS sorry. how hard is to use 1 unit and to combine some items? the only skill u need is to coordinate your team good.

putting dota in wcg sounds trully retarded because dota is a CUSTOM game not a game itself.

Until DOTA is supported by a gaming company and is stand alone, it doesn't deserve to be in competitive play, simple as that. >:

obviously u havnt played dota in a competitive level, perhaps all u do is farm if ever youve played dota.
as for ladder, true that it requires more skills (micro and macro), but dota is a team game which requires coordination and timing. why the hell do you want ladder in your 3rd country, no future ladder in the philippines. might as well stick to dota.

friends may come and go, enemies accumulate... gg
