I think this is a really intresting story that is very touching so I think it would be nice if I can share it with everyone^^; This is a true story!!! The story starts off with a guy who is Otaku. Otaku means like a nerd? in english but it's not really it. They have their own culture and Otaku can mean like a nerd or like wierd mania. They aren't very social and they mostly have no love relationships. I might write a different blog on them a later date as "Otaku culture^^;?" is getting quite big in Japan it is kind of freaky... Well the story like I said starts off with this Otaku guy who is on a train on his way back to his home after visting "Akihabara" which is like a whole town for otakus. -.- He sees a very pretty lady sitting close to him but he doesn't have the courage to talk to her. On the train, there is this one drunk guy and he is harrasing other people on the train... At first the guy doesn't have the courage to stop the guy, but when the guy starts harrasing the pretty lady, he summons up enough courage to yell "stop!" at the drunk guy and the guy tries to punch him but this business man on the train comes and stops them before any punches are thrown. The people who are on the train get off at the next station for some questioning when the pretty girl thanks the otaku guy for helping her and ask for his adress so she could thank him. He doesn't expect anything for a few days but then a pacakage arrives, and it contains 2 "HERMES" brand cups. <-Real expensive if noone knows the popular brand-.- The otaku guy doesn't know what to do so he writes about all of this on a huge forums called "2chan" which is used by all of Japan and everyone gives him courage to call her on the number which was printed on the package. One poster nicknames the otaku guy "Densha Otoko" meaning "Train man" and the pretty girl is nicknamed "Hermes" and 2 characters are born in the story. Densha Otoko finally gets the courage to call her and after some talking he gets a chance to have dinner with her. So he wants to change his appreance for the big date and everyone gives him advice for him through the forums from his hair, clothes, and which resturant to take her. They have dinner and it is pretty successful but it has some intresting things as it is his first time being on a date. After many dates and LOTS of help from the forum posters, Hermes and Densha Otoko start to have feelings for each other but Densha Otoko can't find the courage to "Kokuru" -confess his love (Read my blog about love^.-) to Hermes as he doesn't know some guy who was a Otaku just a few weeks/months back is fitting for a rich successful pretty girl as Hermes is. And with the support of the forum posters, he finally gets the courage to "kokuru" to Hermes and she accepts. That's the end of the story^^; All of this story was teld in forum posts and there is a actual book on the REAL forum posts that were posted by Densha Otoko and the helpers as well as a Movie and a Drama series. The way the story is told about a Otaku guy falling in love with some princess and how it all goes is very intresting and was the target of attention by Japan for a while. Hope you found this long story intresting-.-! ************Ok a little movie!!********* a 11 minute movie on how many out of 100 Real Otaku guys would help a girl who is being harrased like Densha Otoko did^^; It's really intresting since you get to see what Otaku looks like, (#85 is real oO) and how they act... Nerd..haha nah i'd say just "a way too much into something fan" :D. "hardcore/crazed fan" would do (= Damn, I ain't an otaku, but I dream of falling in love with a princess too. I wonder what made you write this article at this point? Since Densha Otoko is somewhat old, could it be the brief talk we had ? ^^; Haven't read the book, only read some of the translated posts from the real forum (2chan) and watched the drama series. The jdrama is really cool and funny btw, I can recommend it. http://www.d-addicts.com should have the eps and subs. (delete this if its against the rules)

Hmm... Is anyone reading www.megatokyo.com ? It's a drama-comedy manga the kinda delves into this subject :) I really like it because you get to see the story from everyones point of view, not just the protagonist as it usually is. It is a sweet story, but somehow I can't shake the feeling that this wasn't what the otaku communities needed :) Suprise and Terror!

Very interesting, even if it does seem too good to be true, I guess truth is stranger than fiction, and believe me, I know, I have plenty of strange stories. It is human to err, to really screw up you need a computer!

i watched it some months ago and it's a pretty nice one.i never realise there's this group of ppl in our life and i think he was really brave to do that since he's in that group. what i can't accept is that this is a REAL STORY?!?!why i never meet such a wonderful princess >.<

gosh would I love to learn japanese, nice read Asuka, although I didnt understand anything in the movie, I got the picture XD I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it!

After watching the movie again, I noticed some crowd laughing, maybe you could explain if they are laughing at the people, or with something else? Because laughing with those people is very cruel in my opinion. I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it!
