Well firstly i though i would blog beause thats what i've been doing for the past few months. I'm sure no-one really knows me apart from a select few but i'm one of the guys behind the Fragbucket website and ohh have i got news for you.
So whats the news?
Well unfortunately the subscription landing page suffered serious database errors ( im losing complete faith in hosting companies ) and i wasn't able to recover the 1000+ who had suscribed to the news letter so i shall be trying to inform those people of the problems encountered by... yep you guessed it writing blogs.
But wait right there, I've not finished yet.
Well, the Fragbucket website went offline in January i won't go into details but just to say it was a business decsision that all three backers agreed on. The site was planned to relaunch back up on June the 1st as Final, yes thats right next month but to put it plainly. It's not going to be finished to the standard i would have approved.
The solution to this?
Roll on Beta2, it's going to be this week! and i have some great information on what i've been doing.
- Tableless CSS design, What does this mean?
It means that it reduces loading between pages by up to 80% as your browser does not need to display certain parts 'numerous' times to your computer.
- New logo, new look,
The website now has a refershing look, it was planned to be lighter but thats something i've not yet implemented, as it stands it's still dark and sleek i'll be waiting for feedback and then will take action if required.
- Make money from uploading your clips
You will be able to make real money (not poker/any of that crap) by simply uploading your movies. We hope this encourages users to upload clips and share them, more views = more money.
- Mass inviter, embed videos, new player
We've got a mass inviter that allows you to invite your whole msn/gmail/yahoo contact list, the ability to embed youtube movies if you have your movie on there already and don't want to move it over and a brand spanking new flash player as let's face it. Beta 1's was extremely lacking in functions.
Below i've attached a screenshot of the new design for anyone who's interested in taking a look. Some things have been added or taken away since this picture so it's really not giving much away.

Is the final version still planned?
Absolutely, the teams in talks with some interesting internet moguls and planning a large scale marketing campaign is a hefty task. The Final version will be aiming a larger demographic but there will be an important section for the fraggers in the world. basically it will have tons of fine tuned features, global presence and it will serve a purpose, need and desire of the end user. Afterall it is a product.
So i leave you with this update and my return to the Esports scene. For those who are interested in the background of myself,
-Team Arcadia manager (2nd Eurocss, Scottish gaming at it's best) - never getting first...
-Team Excello Q4 Manager, Community Manager, Tournament organiser.
-Jg Esports Management.
Thanks to Rick and Andy for encouraging the initial idea that i hope you all enjoy that is Fragbucket, 'When playing just isn't Enough'.
