Team Pandemic Announces Guitar Heroes
Maumelle, Arkansas – April 20, 2007 – TeamPandemic, LLC., one of North America's hottest professional gaming teams, would like to announce their Guitar Hero 2 lineup for the 2007 season. Pandemic enters the Guitar Hero scene on the heels of the World Series of Video Games’ decision to feature the game throughout its 2007 series. While the game has been frequently featured at numerous eSports tournament stops ranging from last month’s Buy.com LAN to CPL's 2006 Championship Finals, its inclusion into the WSVG 2007 game list marks its debut as an actual tournament title.
The 2007 WSVG Circuit features more than $750,000 in cash prizes distributed over six stops beginning May 1, 2007 in China and ending at the world’s largest gaming event in Sweden on November 29. In a video announcement posted on the official circuit website, www.thewsvg.com, Matt Ringel, president of the World Series of Video Games, said, “We are incredibly excited about our 2007 lineup of game competitions. The World Series seeks to support those titles that are the most fun for the players in competition, enjoy widespread community support, and afford the most opportunities for a much wider audience to view them online and on television.”
Official Team Pandemic Guitar Hero 2 Roster:
Daniel “Sephi” Serna
Kelly “TipperQueen” Law-Yone
The lineup will feature two of the most recon players in all of Guitar Hero. The first player is none other than Daniel Serna, a GH2 tournament figurehead, who will be featured in MTV’s upcoming documentary on Guitar Hero. Also joining the team is nation’s top female player, Kelly Law-Yone. While each member possesses their own claim to fame within the community, they also happen to be close friends and look forward to the opportunity of practicing and competing together throughout the upcoming season. The duo was most recently featured at Microsoft and Virgin Megastore’s Xbox 360 Guitar Hero 2 Launch Party in New York City the week of April 11. Daniel and Kelly played on stage alongside KISS frontman Gene Simmons in front of a large audience in Times Square. Photos and footage from the event can be seen at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/g/guitarhero2/gh2nyc.htm
The team is slated to debut in part at JC-Media’s Underground Gaming Series Memphis event May 26-27, with their WSVG schedule beginning with the Louisville stop in late June. As part of our ongoing expansion, Team Pandemic would also like to announce the grand opening of TipperQueen.com; the site will feature Kelly’s blog, a photo gallery, and gameplay videos both previously recorded and upcoming throughout the course of the year.
