I love it to play on my acoustic guitar and I also like to visit video streaming sites to look up for people who are trying to fullfill their best at playing on an acoustic guitar. And I have found a lot of different arrangements by different guitar players and here you can look up for my favourites^^
Andy Mckee - Guitar - Drifting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS3N4
One of my all time favourite. This song is really beautiful and his play style is called "finger style" (Sound weird but this is the right name for it). In my opinion this new playing style is the future of guitar playing. Everything improves and that is the kind of music everyone will learn to play in future on guitar. Of course Andy got much more songs but this is his best in my opinion.
Antoine Dufour - Drac & Friends I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu0FjmcJva8&feature=related
I would cut my legs to be able to play this. The song is originally composed by Don Ross and also consists of two parts. Maybe the coolest song ever. I listen to this song at least 10 times a day ^_^
Craig DAndrea - Chet Your Hedges
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZtP0Dr3WYs
This guy started guitar playing in 1999, same as me, but he plays far better than me. Craig, Antoine and Andy are all guitar players from the CANdYRAT group. This canadian group consists of many skilled guitar players which tours through Canada and the States. Whenever they give a concert, you can see all three of them at once <3 I wonder if they will ever come to Europe ö.ö
Wang Yameng - Niccolò Paganini - Caprice No. 24
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqUV_qNwb6o
Next we go to a song or to a playing style that is better known in the normal guitar world. Here we see Wang Yameng:
"Wang Yameng was 12 years old, or 2 years after she started studying guitar from Professor Chen Zhi, when she performed this piece in the 36th Tokyo International Guitar Competition in December, 1993, which she won against adults from 11 other countries. She set a record of the youngest guitar champion in the international guitar competition and she also set a record of winning a first prize at her first participation of an international guitar competition."
This is also that kind of music I play but she is really, really, really good. This requires a lot of skill to play it perfectly and she mastered it while being 13 years old. I felt a little bit despereated after hearing this song because I would never imagine myself playing so good. But everyone has his own playing style and you should not compare it to others... it took some time to realize that ._.
Tango en skai by Roland Dyens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZJwZYjh4bY
This is the song I've been learning 3 months ago and I love it. It has some difficult speed parts but when you mastered this song, it sounds really good. The skai means chagrin on english. This kind of tango is also called slapstick tango because it is not played as a real one but it sounds also good. After the second WW people couldnt buy any "real" chagrin and it was produced with syntetic materials it is also not real but you can wear it. You could say this kind of a song is a homage to this old syntetic chargrin.
LAGQ Live!: Pachelbel's 'Loose' Canon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yflWG-e38OU
LAGQ = Los Angeles Guitar Quartett, probably the best guitar quartett in the world. It consist of 4 world class guitar players. But recently 1 man quit the quartett and another one joined. In the video you see the "old" quartett.
The Song Pachelbel Canaon is song composed by a german Monk in the 17th century and this made it even into the charts. LAGQ performs this song by playing it with different music styles. And this is really awesome.
Tommy Emmanuel / J.Shimabukuro: While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Tommy Emmanuel is one of the most skilled guitar players and Jake Shimabukoru one of the most skilled ukulele player. The original song is by George Harrison/ The Beatles:
Original one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHChc2I7FKk&feature=related Such a good song.
Played by Jake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9mEKMz2Pvo This is so well played
Arrangement by Jake and Tommy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5qakFIecBU <== MUST SEE
John Butler Trio - Ocean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VAkOhXIsI0
I found this song 4 weeks ago and hmmm.. it is one of the best songs I have ever heard. It sounds like this scotish music played on this funny trompets (I dunno how they are called in english)
This guy uses a guitar with 12 strings and this makes the song in my opinion, also du to the special tuning to a really good song.
John Mayer - Bigger Than My Body Live (Acoustic)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PQtbwS80A0
Guitar playing is not only playing but also playing and singing. Some people are bad at it (f.e. me) and some are born to do this. Here we go with one of my most favourite songs "Bigger than my Body" by "John Mayer". He recently changed his playing style to jazz songs so I guess you wont find that great songs by him anymore. ._.
Embarcadero Blues by Goh Nakamura
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmMHN-y0kUY
I love this song although there is a solo part missing, Who cares^_^ (I guess only me) Best chill song ever :D (Besides to Sitting Waiting Wishing from Jack Johson)
Here a nice cover by him ;)

Ryan Adams - Wonderwall
