Ever since the beginning of the ESWC years ago, i always wanted to go see this great event. And back in November when we began the planning of the Danish ESWC 2006 preliminaries, i promised my self that this is the one i am gonna attend. Tuesday 28/06 2006 So finally the day came, its the 28/06 and i just have to make it through my working day, and then be in the airport at 15:00 where i would meet with the danish CS team and Bjarke, Ciara. We all got there super earlie because of the ekstra security in the copenhagen airport, and we didnt want to end up waiting in line while our plane was at takeoff. We got in pretty fast and sat down for an hour or so in the waiting areas. The plane trip was like all others - nice and easy. so after 2œ hours we were standing i CDG Paris. There we had to wait for the last CS player - Whimp - who left Copenhagen a few hours before us (long story why) we all meet up and sat our direction for the train out of CDG. After a while we got our tickets and just had to find the train - even thoug CDG is pretty big, the signs guides one through prettey fast - so after 10 mins walk we were at the platform wainting. the trip into our hotel was pretty simple and very hot so, i dont want to go into details about that - just mentioning that we arrived at around 23:00 and the ESWC officials told us a big welcome to paris. We are staying at one of the player hotels - Ofc - and here we have Lucifer, FoV, mym.Ladies, Les Seules, NIP and a lot others ;) Nothing much to say about the rest, ppl were drinking and chillin just outside the hotel - all excited about the upcoming event. Thursday 29/06 2006 The alarm clock woke me up at 8:45, i turned over and checked on bjarke and ciara i and saw that the kids had a nice spoon going so i didnt want to wake them up just yet, so 1 more hour of sleep for us. 9:45 lets get up and going i called at Bjarke - who had a smile on his face, from the spoon with ciara ^_^ A qucik shower and of to breakfast. we got some qucik breaksfast, because the playerbus where leaving soon. All players at the hotel got into some busses and of to Arena we went. 20 mins later we drove into the parking lot under the venue, i was pretty excited to see this great place, because its one big mother fucker. It contains of several halls and one big main arena with seats for 15.000 ppl ^_^ But then the chaos began........... I will sum this up pretty fast, but the next couppl f hours consisted of - Waiting in line - Sweating - Waiting in line - ohh we are still waiting - Registration (finally) - now its 11:00 and the first things that will happend starts at 16:30, so now we just have to kill time . - sweating, and pretty bored - Ciara, Bjarke and I went to a park nearby and sat in the shawdoes of a big tree and got the cards out. - Played a card game called "røvhul" i didnt know this game, so i had to learn it. Its a pretty simple game so i started out by owning the two noobs a couple of times. Then the mYm.Ladies came around and quickly we had a big game going on here. After a hour or so, the girls wanted to do a "walk" so the left us, and we decided to join up with SoA (danish Cs team) Sitting in the sun...... Fuck i hate it when its to hot (30 Celcius) just chillin with the boys, looking at the different groups of ppl playing soccer in the park (mainly other gamers). Then out of nowhere came my friend Quick (Former ESWC winner, and a very nice swedish guy) "sup dude" he said. Ahh hey Miguel wtf are u doing here ??!? turnes out that he is coaching for Les Seules - Nice job you got there m8 :) we all wanted to play some soccer so we went over and challenged some of the otheres. We had to play in turns, since some mores groups wanted to play. So we sat down and waited, for the first game to end. So it did pretty fast, with the gamers of x6tence and some others spanish dudes winning. And now we have a national game of Spain Vs. Denmark(me and the SoA boys) plus Quick. It turned out that the boys from spain actually knew how to play soccer, so they showed some pretty nice moves BUT the vikings from Denmark + Quick, organised some heavy tactics. and we beat the shit out of them - winning 4-0 IN YOUR FACE SPAIN! i might add that Zeus, Fury and Tod joined us in the game. We had a lot of fun with the game for like 1œ in the sun and right now, as i am wrinting this I feel the punishment for being in bad shape T_T But back to todays schedule - We are still wating for the opening ceromony wich starts at 18:30 ( or i might add 19:15) ohh how i hate delays and waiting time GRRrrrrr... Finally the doors to the main area opens, and we get in and find a seat, getting ready for a GREAT opening ceremony. ohh by did i get disappointed ;( ofc there where the normal speach of various ppl. But it was pretty hard to understand it T_T french ppl speaking english. But i must say, that this venue is Fucking big, and its divided into hmm 7 stages with one major stage in the middel, and it looks SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. I am really looking forward to see all the different games tomorrow. The last thing that happend was the various group selections. u all have seen them by now i guess so i wont get into details. but it looks like that mYm.Ladies and Ciara will have a hard time getting past the Group stages. gogogogo mYm FIIIIGHTING!!!! So now all the official things are over, and we are heading backto the hotel with the player bus again. We all decided to take a quick late night dinner at Mcd me, lucifer, Ciara, bjarke and SoA gang. Now i am back at the room its 01:21 and i am sticky, smelling like army after his normal 3 days out of the shower - and i am of to get a shower - will get back tomorrow Cu Friday 30/06 206 GAME DAY – finally it started what we all waited for. The games have started and all players are tuned into competition mode. Ciara was the first one to get into the fight, with an opening game vs. SK.Hot. Before the game a good result would be 1-1, so I think that’s what Ciara went for. They played it at the Wc3 stage – that’s not the main stage – but still a nice stage to show he skillz on. And there were a lot of ppl watching them. Bjarke and I arrived right in time for Ciaras game, and we saw him loose the first game, but doing a nice comeback in the second. In the meantime our very own Lucifer had his group going, owning up everybody in it. So not much to talk about here – clean cut from the devil him self ;) After Bjarke and Ciara got their games going I just walk around watching other games, and gamers. I and must say, it’s amazing how E-sports can unite so many cultures. And within them all I could sense the eager to win. One speaks out though, a Brazilian Pro evolution Soccer player, had a stage fight against a local hero from France, and ofc everybody was watching this. The French dude got ahead with 1-0 but then the magic from south American came to Paris and when he scored the first goal he jumped up and started to dance Samba – while he was cheering. Now that’s a gamer who wants to win – and it was nice to se him so happy ;) Today was also the beginning of the Counter-strike games ofc, and it all went well. The teams who were suppose to win – won. BUT!!!! Then it came – and this is out of pure memory – Virtus Pro had a game on nuke vs someone ;) and they used the flashbug. WTF?!?! How can they do that since all maps a drax maps (meaning, no bugs in em) well turned out that it WASENT the Drax versions, so the possibility for flashbugs where there. Virtus lost the game because of the bug and ofc they complained about it. ATM I don’t know the outcome of this. But since ESWC has been very forceful on the local preliminaries to use the Drax maps, its kind of “funny” that they miss it them selves T_T But otherwise I think all games went pretty ok, we had the normal delays and technical problems but all in all I think it went perfect  During the day I realised that I actually am a NSP !!!! omg wtf GGGGGG NSP! Hehe that’s simply the National ESWC preliminary provider. And that we all have been invited out this evening for networking and social stuff. Great free food and drinks for me – I just had one thought. Here I was sweating and smelling like army (again) in my shorts and t-shirt. I cant go out like this!!!!, so I had to go back to the hotel and change – PRETTY FAST. A quick trip with the Metro and a shower that Guinness book of records, would count as the fastest in the world  I was ready to go out and mingle with the rest of the ESWC gang. A short bus ride took us to a nice boat at the Seine and we started of with drinks and stuff. The rest of the evening is for my self to keep, but it was nice to meet the ppl from Saudi Arabia (he asked if I wanted to buy oil) and from all over the globe - Networking is everything. So now I m back at the hotel, Ciara and Bjarke is doing their regularly spooning and I am sitting here again doing my diary for you all.

japan is sorrounded by water, which means that the feeled temperature is much lower than the real temperature. Paris is not really near a sea :) <3 mercy
