| Yo I'm from a rock out in the middle of the sea, maybe you've heard of it it's called Hawaii? Nice place to be but things are kinda expensive... Not as much as in Europe but Europe doesn’t have to get their oil flown in halfway across the world. Currently enrolled in the University of Hawaii Manoa under the College of Engineering and I play DotA on my free time/when I'm not out with my friends. I also like to fish and travel. Though I haven’t traveled that far from the Pacific Rim yet so yeah! I love Japan and wana go back there, will prob go this summer. Been to Alaska, Canada (briefly), Cali, Vegas, Fanning Isle, Japan, and to all the Hawaiian Islands. As far as DotA is concerned, I knew about it since it first started but at the time it wasn’t really developed and was still sorely lacking from WC3 Ladder so I left it alone. Few years later my friends basically force me to play it and I was shocked at how much development the map had gone under, how much it had grown from all the other Aeon of Strife maps out there. My younger brothers had already been playing it and they taught me how to play. A week later after a crash course in DotA and watching all my replays to see my errors me and my friends had a DotA LAN party. They were shocked to see my improvement and hating me for it. As I played I eventually figured out that there were better people around always hiding. So about 8 months after I started playing I joined the DotA-Allstars forum so I could learn more from the source of DotA. Hanging out in the Strategy, General Discussion, and Mechanics sections I quickly learned more and more about this fabulous game. Even gaining a semi pompous attitude, though I tried to hide it as much as possible :p. But it was when I was growing tired of the same old pub players that I, by a stroke of luck, joined a game with YoDa *aka hi2u.Blowout*. With a lot of criticism that was not unjust he in the last few min of the game handed out some advice, "get better noob". Though I got my ass thoroughly handed to me it put me back into place and rekindled my desire to improve. Though strategically I think I might be degrading my in game knowledge has vastly improved. I read about other leagues and studied the different styles of play. And forever forsaking the General Discussion in favor of Competitive DotA. Ever since I've been hanging out there one team has always caught my eye and that is Clan MYM. Their mix of talent, dedication, and strategy had always impressed me. And that is how I ended up here. Though I haunted the replay sections for awhile without an account I eventually made one and joined this MYM community. Currently trying to get my Clan mates more motivated to play better but our schedules are very busy and we are always on different time tables (though we all live in Hawaii). One day I hope to be up there with the best of them but for now I am perfectly content to watch from the side lines and promote DotA at every chance I get. |
