| So I'm supposed to tell a little bit about myself now, so you won't always have a blank file here, right? ;) You can see my birthdate&that crap in my profile already, so I'll tell a little bit more about my gaming path. I'm an avid fan of RTS games, even though I started with games like Minesweeper, Dx-Ball, Hugo, Indiana Jones, Sam&Max and similar thingies. Then one day, I was hooked by Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome and I was really amazed, however, when Age of Empires 2 came out, AOE 1 was history and there was not even a remote possibility that I would ever play Rise of Rome again - units were bigger than buildings, there were no unit formations, which added to the fun, but was quite impractical. I started playing AoE2 and I liked it a lot - I liked cheats a lot too :p After some time, I stopped using cheats as I found it way more challenging (d00h) to play without cheats, beating the computer was easy for me, but a long time process - I always used turtle tactics, aka heavy positional defending with castles and fast units such as Paladins :p I never played online as I always had some kinda problems back in time. Now the new Garena also has a possibility of playing AOE2: TC, so I'm looking forward to this :) In 2004, I met new schoolmates, many of whom were playing Warcraft 3: TFT, but I wasn't interested at first, however, the coming summer changed everything. I met a girlfriend, who happened to play Wc3: TFT as well (lol), so I was like: "everybody is playing this, just me not" and I gave it a shot. I fell in love with the game immediately, especially the graphics. So when you begin RoC campaign, you quickly switch from Orcs to Humans and here comes another fun part: I didn't know how to learn spells, I only had that level 1 holy light and I thought that I'd get stronger and newer spells with every level, which didn't happen. I didn't bother and I won entire human campaign with only lvl 1 holy light before schoolmates told me how to learn new spells :p I played a bit of TFT, then started playing DotA and ofc I noobed at first, over the next year improved quite a lot and same goes for year after that, all till now :p In the meantime, I was playing Elendor MUSH, a text-based roleplaying game, with LOTR theme, which also made my English language knowledge skyrocket. Eventually, that's why I decided to study English on the university in the year 2008 and gave me good grounds to apply for proofreading on www.mymym.com where I passed the trials and am now a proofreader. Among the games that I also play are Rome: Total war and Medieval 2: Total war, Sim City 3000 and NHL 2007 (little hockey never hurt anybody :p) I'm also power-melodic metal fun but I prefer to say that I like to listen to good music (Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Ensiferum, Wintersun, Nightwish, Blind Guardian, list goes on and on and on...) and I've finished elementary school for piano but stopped playing it almost completly because of the conditions that didn't allow me to practice often and enough. You think that's where it ends? Not at all! I've done all sorts of things, such as soccer, ice-skating (learning to play ice-hockey is like learning to skate all over again), biking, swordfighting, I even tried to write some poems and books. I like high-fantasy literature. Yes, you could say that I'm a jack of all trades and master of none. Hope that doesn't go for proofreading though ;) As of October 2008, I'm also a member of the only active&competitive Slovenian DotA clan, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). AS of January 2009, we are officially sponsored by Slovenian gaming organization Energy Gaming. |
