Clanbase Eurocup XVI: DotA

Yeah you got that right, the ClanBase Wc3 team decided to have a Eurocup for Dota in this upcoming Eurocup XVI season for the first time!
The remarkable thing about this is, that they obviously removed the Wc3 1on1 competition. Hence we will not see Wc3 melee but instead some DotA action.

This is what one of their officials 'aShuN' had to say:

A few weeks ago we announced the new season of the ClanBase DotA OpenCup, but we also talked about some big news coming up in the following days. Now the time has come: it is now official that DotA will have his own cup in the ClanBase EuroCup Season XVI!

The EuroCup contains the most important ClanBase cups, featuring big prizes in both cash and hardware as well as LAN finals for certain games. The EuroCup Season XV concluded only one week ago in the WZZRD LAN Centre (Enschede, The Netherlands), where four Call of Duty 2 teams, four Counter-Strike 1.6 teams and four WarCraft III players fought for no less than 20.000 EUR in cash!

Now, after having organized several WarCraft III cups within the EuroCup circuit, we from the ClanBase WC3 crew decided to make a big, perhaps risky yet exciting change: it's with a big enthusiasm that we prepared and look forward to this DotA EuroCup, accepting the challenge of bringing this game to a bigger level of professionalism and competition that somehow was still missing.

All the informations you need can be found on the website; for everything else, our IRC channels #clanbase.wc3 and #eurocup.wc3 are open for any kind of question. Unfortunately the details on prizes are unknown as of yet, but the prestige of the EuroCup talks by itself. The last WC3 1on1 EuroCup featured a 4.000 EUR prize and we have no intention of running a worse tournament.

Furthermore you will find general Eurocup information here and here you have a direct link to the DotA-Allstars Cup
