MYM players to host Korean tournament + Replays
From 18th to 19th of September 2007 the MYM players Jung-Ki "Susiria" Oh, JaeWook "Lucifer" Noh and JaeHo "Moon" Jang will host the second edition of their tournament series, which is designed for Korean non-pro gamers.
While the first edition has been played in teams, where the two players Susiria and Lucifer picked up four players each to face each other (finally Susiria's team won 6:1), now eight players have been invited to fight for the prize money of 330$ (220$ for first place, 110$ for second place) in a double elimination system.
The invited players are:

The first round will be a Best-of-1, where each player can give a veto on two maps out of five. The remaining map will be the one played then. In the semi finals (Best-of-3) each can veto one map and the remaining three maps will be played. Finally in the grand final a Best-of-5 will be played, so no map can be given a veto on.

Quick question -
When I read the introduction, I expected unfamiliar names because the news said "tournament for non pro-gamers". Somewhat like scouting for new talent. But maybe only DestroyU (and relatively, Lucifer's brother MichaeL) can be considered "non pro-gamers" in my book; or is there a higher hierarchy into consideration of being called a pro-gamer in this sense? | |

I believe there's a pro-gamer license in Korea. Others except for DestroyU plays in a Pro-gamer clan/org that's why people think/consider them as pro-gamers. But in this case and if im not mistaken, these chosen people still doesnt have their pro-gamer license. Under legality or so they are still not considered professionals. altho they are pro-gamers in a sense that they are dedicated to the game and earning from it. @jaczie+ psycho not correct
in order to be considered professional you need to win one major korean tournament. As surprising as this is Soju (the winner of eswc 2007) is still considered and put in the amateur bracket. Hold the S cause i'm an AINT.

@psycho no. I'm positive there is no such thing as pro-gamer license. They are only viewed upon the results they have obtained in Korean tournaments.
