TeK-9 Without forever

The Belgian multi-gaming clan Belgium TeK-9 Networks announced that they have terminated their contract with their Quake 4 star-player Netherlands forever from this day forth. This happened due to the fact that the young talent was getting more and more offers from other teams that TeK-9 most likely could not compete with financally. This all happened in mutual agreements.

Netherlands Ivo "forever" Lindhout has had some strong performances this year f.e. finishing 3rd at the ESWC 2006 and winning the German Kode5 Finals. With these results in his bag he poked the interest of many teams and private investors who see a bright future for the 17 year old player forever.

These are the official statements by TeK-9 and forever:

Statement Ivo "forever" Lindhout

I would like to thank the TeK-9 organization for providing me all of the opportunities they have in the past months. They have allowed me to train, prepare, travel, and compete in competitions around the globe for which I am very grateful. It was a hard decision, but I feel it is now the time for myself to move on to bigger challenges to further my career.

Statement Steven Leunens, CEO TeK-9 Networks Ltd.

It is never easy to let such a player go, certainly not if you invested quite a deal of money into him. But TeK-9 is not, and never will be, a team that stands in the way of a player's ambitions and goals. The deals proposed to Ivo are far greater then we could even cope so we had no other alternative then to cut him lose. What we will do to cope with the loss of Ivo is not yet known but there are probably going to be a few more changes both structural and organisational. Only time will tell what the future has in store for us.

We wish both the team and forever the best of luck. For further information on this topic stay tuned.
