Serious-Gaming went through some changes in the last weeks. First
Xlord decided to leave the team to join SK Germany. Now srs announced a new member - the Ukranian UD player and ex-member of team 3wD Valentine "Fix" Krulikovksy. Fix is one of the key players in every match for the national team of Ukraine. I had the pleasure to take a short interview from him:
Hello Fix, can you please introduce yourself to our readers with giving a bit of information about where you live, what race you play.etc.. Well you know when I first bought wc3 and started playing campaigns and vs computers and vs some friends in the university first I played NE, but then I tried playing UD once and liked it and I decided to switch to UD and also I've watched UD replays of famous russian player Ranger in ROC and impressed me pretty much and WCB.Jackson, korean UD player. So thats why I decided to play UD, too. Recently a lot of players say that NE is overpowered. What do you think of this subject. Do you regret staying UD? No way! I think undead vs nightelf mutchup is pretty balanced and overall undead has advantages vs each race and all other mutchups are practically balanced too and player's skill decides much more than their race choices. Sometime I like to make some jokes about "bullelf" though=) Okay. Now let's talk a bit about you and Serious-Gaming. How did you get in contact with them? And how did you find your new home? Basically it was Cara who contacted me and convinced me to join srs - we were already quite friendly because we met at the big lan tourney in Russia called Gigabyte and talked there etc. So after disbanding of team 3wD he contacted me and after some time of thinking I agreed to join srs and help the team perform well in NGL and other leageus in future probably. I find this team pretty nice - I like the players there and hope we will achieve good results. Now tell us who is Fix outside the gaming world. How do you spend your time and most importantly how do you prepare yourself before a match or a tournament? Im studying in the biggest and most prestigious university in my country - the Institute of International Relations. I'm going to be a future diplomat and as for the matches i just try to study my opponent and figure out his playstyle if i know beforehand im going to play vs him and then try to do my best, but sometimes on bigger events I got such a problem like getting nervous so i can make bad mistakes though i already have enough experience I hope this problem will be gone soon=) How is the gaming in Ukraine. When talking about gaming in Ukraine most people firstly think about SK.Hot and srs`Fix. Can you please explain how are WCG and ESWC organized. Are there many tournaments? Actually we have a lot of lan tournaments but most of them arent so big . But for example this February we had a really great tournament here with a lot of players from russia, belarus even sweden coming with a big prizemoney but usually the lans are smaller. Eswc - we didnt have it for few years and im glad we had it this year at least but unfortunately there only was 1 spot for the finals which Hot won and he will represent ukraine in the finals in France this year. WCG - its the biggest tournament here every year and it is very well organised with regional qualifiers till the final qualifier in Kiev and everyone is waiting for it for almost the whole year. I believe Ukraine has a lot of good and talanted players that arent worse than many of the more known european players but they are less recognized mostly because of the quality of internet connection in ukraine, because its pretty poor, thats why they cant get that far. For example i live in Kiev, the capital, and still got quite big problems with the internet - i almost dont ladder lately because dont have a good enough connection (only playing on gg client lately) and in other regions its even worse. So thats why most players in ukraine arent as known but i believe they are good and arent worse than most players in other countries. In Bulgaria we have BFES - Bulgarian Federation of eSports that helps young players, organizes tournaments and mainly working on the BWCL. Is there any organization from this calliber in Ukraine? Yea you know some organizations like that called some federation also - dont remember exactly but its pretty new and it organized eswc qualifier, but overall they dont help so much and this organizations are created and then they can disappear or something. Then new organization comes up again some new federation of e-sports. Thats about it xD Thank for your time. It was a great pleasure talking with you, Fix. Do you want to add some final words? Yea thx u2. I want to add a big shot out to all my friends and all people that supported me and also wanna give a shot out to blizzard - i hope they remove that hack and ban all hackers soon cuz its getting really annoying already=). Today our ukraine national team will play in the world cup for the first time vs spain and i wish all the best luck to our players hope they can make it to the final! |
We wish good luck to Fix and Serious-Gaming with their future matches.

I was half expecting you to show up just to say something like that, Zubie :) You have quite the track record for homoerotic innuendo ^^
As for FiX, I like him after some match I saw with him fast-exping vs an elf and then teching to frosties. He smashed a 70 food army of bears and dryads without losing more than maybe 3 gargs ^^ Last edited by Dectilon at 14.06.2006, 23:59
