Elky interviewed

Elky Bertrand Grospellier, a.k.a France Elky was interviewed by the Global Gaming League (GGL). Elky, originally from France, was one of the first foreign pro-gamers to compete in Korea, and had mild success there.

After he retired from StarCraft, he stayed in Korea, and became a Poker professional.

A small sample of the interview:

How long did it take you to get used to the life in Seoul? What were your first impressions and experiences connected with adaptation?
It didn't take me so long to get use to life here, there are some kinds of foods that I missed, but Korean food is very tasty. And in the last four years, the foreign food has improved a lot as well. Well, I was already interested with Korean culture because some of my online friends were Korean, so I already didn't expect things to be so easy. But since Giyom [a.k.a. Guillaume Patry] was already here and I was supported by my Korean Pro-Gaming friends, they helped me adjust. The first impression was pretty good considering I came in second that year at WCG and became quite popular in Korea after just a few months of playing on TV. But of course, my experience would be much different than just someone visiting here or even other gamers not in StarCraft.

In the interview he speaks about why he went to Korea in the first place, his views on the current players and his new career as a professional poker player. He also talks about on improving the eSports scene in Europe. The interview can be found here.
