KODE5, holding a simultaneous American, Asian and European online DotA tournament division have released the Asian brackets.
KODE5, holding a simultaneous America, Asian and European online DotA tournament division have released the Asian brackets. Games are played in a best of 1 format and as this tournament is based on single-elimination, the losing team is eliminated from the tournament.
There are alot of interesting match-ups in the first round.
AEON.sg are going up against familiar rivals
Kingsurf and is such a shame that one of these teams will be gone from the tournament at such an early stage. The odds for this match up seem to be in favour of Kingsurf since AEON has recently lost their five-man roster with the retirement of their only Malaysian player, ChuaN.
Also, a newly reformed
EHOME featuring KingJ and Burning will test themselves against
StarsBoBa. In addition,
MCiTY face Singaporean powerhouse
Xtreme Chaotix aka XtC although XtC's situation is mired in uncertainty as they are currently down to 2 players.
As can be seen, there doesn't seem to be a seeding process when the brackets were released leading us to a very exciting first round. Although, the backets may not be complete as there are only 39 teams, an unusual number for a tournament of single elimination format. Stay tuned for more updates on the brackets if they are forthcoming. Indeed if the brackets were to stay, this would lead to a very interesting tournament, to say the least.
-Update-
The KODE5 administration has reportedly removed the brackets, signalling the possibilities of a redrawing of brackets following much dissension from the community regarding the way the elite teams were arranged to pit against each other as early as the first round.

weirdest bracket ever. all the powerhouses in upper half of the bracket next to each other. lol.
is that intentional? no seeding sounds fine but thats just way too coincidental. It rather seems like they are purposely arranged to knock out each other early. probably to attract interest? but this way it wont be the best 4 teams that represent asia in the global final. in fact from (aeon,ks,starsboba, ehome, mcity, xtc, fishnet, ftz) only 1 team can reach top 4 and go to the next stage. is that right? | |

mabye they wanted to give underdog teams a fighting chance to advance in the tourney before being trampled over by Ehome, Aeon.sg or something, during the l8r stages.
there are no bad heroes, only bad teammates !

As much as i respect the org for taking the high road and doing all the drafts randomly, the amount of redicule they will recieve will make them cave in :)
