IEM Asia CS Day 3 Summary - Today we saw four teams fighting in the Playoffs, however only two of them were about to advance to the IEM IV World Finals. Although most expected to see TitaNs vs. WeMadeFOX in the Grand Final, this match was about to be played in the Semi Finals as TitaNs failed to win their group.
WMF started very strong on de_inferno, winning the first side 13:02 and leaving
TitaNs without words. Final score on de_inferno was 16:04 and WMF needed just one more map of the following two to advance.
TitaNs surprised everyone by winning 10:05 as Counter-Terrorists on dust2, however the match was still very close as WeMadeFOX managed to win 09:06. Final score ended 16:14 in the favor of TitaNs.
The 3rd map, de_train, featured a one-sided match as WMF was the only team playing. The Koreans managed to defeat TitaNs with an astonishing 14:01 scoreline, eventually winning the map 16:05 and sending TitaNs out of the competition.
IEM Asia CS Day 2 Summary - In the opening match of the day,
Team Immunity managed to defeat local team
edge7 following a 12:03 win as Terrorists on dust2, a 11:04 win on the other side. Immunity looked strong during the entire game, and their direct oponents - TitaNs eSports - are already starting to wonder whether the first place of the group is still at sake. Final score ended 23:07.
TitaNs were the next to play against
Ka4, needing a good result the Indonesian team started aggresive on de_inferno and didn't leave room for any mistakes, as the first side ended 14:01 in their favor. After both teams switched sides, TitaNs looked abit more relaxed and lost 6 rounds out of 15, final score 23:07. TitaNs and Immunity are now perfectly tied up.
In the 3rd-4th place decider match, winner came out to be
Ka4, which defeated
edge7 on de_train following a 20:10 final scoreline.
Time has come for the main match of the group to be played -
Team Immunity versus
TitaNs eSports. Although the Indonesian team had a slight advantage, playing against Ka4 on inferno aswell, Immunity looked well organized and managed to win the first half 08:07. Everybody expected a tight second half, however this wasn't about to happen as Immunity went on fire and did an excellent defensive side, winning with an amazing 12:03 scoreline. The Aussies came out victorious at the end after all, final score 20:10.
IEM Asia CS Day 1 Summary -
WeMadeFOX had an amazing start after defeating
Ultramax Gaming in the very first match of the IEM IV Asian Finals. The Koreans started strong and won the first side of de_inferno with a astonishing 13:02 scoreline, afterwards the second half was just a matter of time. Final score ended 26:04 in the favor of WMF.
Meanwhile, in the other group match,
DuskBin had serious problems with the unknown team
XGamers after winning 08:07 the first side of dust2 as Terrorists. However the second side went really well for the team from Hong Kong, seeing them win 11:04 and denying most of XGamers' attacks. DuskBin eventually won the match with a 19:11 final score.
At 09:00 CET,
UMX Gaming had to face their fellow countrymen
XGamers, a match which basically decided which team keeps its changes to advance to the Playoffs. XGamers started good on de_train, as Terrorists, winning the pistol round and the following two. UMX woke up on time and did a good defence in the remaining rounds, winning the side 12:03 and making their job alot more easier in the second half, needing only 4 rounds out of 15 to win the match. XGamers again won the first three rounds and managed to pull 9 rounds as CT's, however this wasn't enough for them as the final score ended 18:12 for UMX.
In the main event of today,
WeMadeFOX played against
DuskBin on de_dust2. The match started with an annoying server crash in the first round, forcing the organizers to restart although WMF were in a 4v1 situation and clearly had the pistol round in their hands. This was actually about to make things worse for DuskBin as WMF seemed more motivated to win. The Koreans played very well as Counter-Terrorists and eventually won the first side 12:03. Second side went again very well for WMF as they managed to plant and win on a eco-round, both teams were tied up at 1-1. WeMadeFOX didn't lose any rounds and succesfully won the match 16:04.
Defending champions wNv.cn (now known as TyLoo.raw) won't be attending the event as a result of some Visa problems with the host country, Taiwan. No Chinese teams will be present at this year's Asian Championship Finals, making things much more easier for the WeMadeFOX squad.
The Season IV Asian Championship Finals will feature a total of eight teams fighting for the first two places, which will automatically take them to the World Championship Finals and grant the first team 25,000$.
