Bye The1Crow, welcome ReiN

eric, jonas, rein, the1crow

Today an interesting eSports career comes to an end. Content Manager Jonas 'The1Crow' Gebhardt waves goodbye and Eric 'ReiN' Kohr takes over.

In 2005 I started to write StarCraft news in German for broodwar.de. In January 2007 I wrote my first news post on myMYM.com which was back then known as meetyourmakers.com. I started to write only StarCraft and basically hated every other game. I grew up and noticed there are also other great games, started to get interested in eSports in general, became StarCraft ESUP and moved in February 2008 to Denmark in order to start as Content Supervisor on a fulltime basis for myMYM.

February 2009, the company went bankrupt, I lost my job and started shortly after that to write part time for readmore.eu. Also this got closed and I been without eSports for sometime. Then this autumn the page returned and I was hired yet another time as Content Manager.

But by today my eSports career will come to a final end.

After about 1500 news articles, about 150 videos and video interviews, 23 offline events and winning the eSports Award in 2009 the time has come to move on (details).

I received a thrilling job offer from PokerStrategy.com where I will be hired on a fulltime basis from December 1st which requires that I move from cold Denmark to warm Gibraltar.

Esports was a part of my life for many years now and I don't regret anything I did or experienced within the last years. Being with MYM was for sure the most shaping and exciting time. I will never forget the times being on my first event at Dreamhack 2007 Winter which was a prize I won for being the 'best' editor 5 times in a row in 2007 for writing Starcraft content. I will never forget the three times WCG I witnessed nor the 4 weeks I spent together with Wind in China to conduct a documentary about eSports there. And I will also never forgot how good it felt when we at some point at the end of 2008 managed to build up a page that was running and working so good and that grew its clicks and comments on news by almost 50% within 10 months.

Traveling the world last year was crazy and awesome, I remember the time when I was sometimes just two weeks at home and then again a week away for an event... and this like for months.

...and I will never forget about all the great people I met online and offline in eSports. It was great to see so many different personalities and characters and it was great to gain so many new friends. On the other hand I felt so happy to see new editors coming in and helping them to educate them to real great eSports journalists.

One of those guys is our current DotA ESUP ReinN. When he once joined myMYM.com he was just an ordinary that had no idea yet about how to write a news. But we helped him and explained what matters and what is important - and he was eager and dedicated to learn. He is one great example how a nobody can grow to a very good editor. But despite to that he also proved to have the social skills and management skills which are needed to lead people and a whole section.

From today on Eric 'Rein' Kohr will take over my position and become the new Content Manager on myMYM.com. His start can't be better, as his recent on site coverage of SMM broke a lot of records in myMYM.com history - no coverage created so many page impressions ever!

Thanks to everyone who supported me and my work in the past and knew to appreciate it. Don't forget to pay me a visit from time to time at PokerStrategy.com.

Oh, my god, what's problem with MYM dota ? After SMM finished, CD and MYM didn't go back to their own countries immediately, instead, they have some practices in local cafe , so far , CD 3:0 MYM. I strongly recommend MYM come to attend Chinese pro league which will be held in December in Beijing(Fnatic confirmed to attend) to learn how to play DOTA. Do not just abuse Europeans noob teams or Malaysian girls teams any more, please !

Nice to see ReiN stepping up. With DotA being such an integral part of the site, I think it's the right choice.

Crow, you were a great SC author. I still remember my very own article posted on reps.ru which could not be done without your significant help.

You are also an amazing reporter. News, videointerviews, score updates - you've got it all.

And not to miss that you are one of the most effective bosses eSports has out there.

You will be missed. Say my hello to that pokerbitch vhallee.
<3 you both.

life is funny.
