The WCG 2009 Grand Final finished last Sunday, where AGAiN from Poland crowned themselves the world champions after beating the Swedish representatives fnatic twice in the finals.

The finals were perhaps the most exciting finals in Counter-Strike history. On one side were the Poles, who had been homeless three times in a year following the bankruptcy of ESNation, furthermore, they needed a chance to prove themselves in order to get sponsored in the future; and on the other side was fnatic from Sweden, who had won five championships in 2009. More importantly, the Swedes had never won any events in China and WCG had always been the missing trophy in their cabinet.

Both of the finalists were so close to each other and knew each other so well that the first match on de_nuke finally ended up in favor of AGAiN, but only following four overtimes and over one and a half hours of epic play, probably the longest final at a formal tournament.
