Grubby, LucifroN, ReMinD & Co. to IEST in Beijing

fly, grubby, happy, iest, lucifron, moon, remind, sky

A while back, there was voting for international players to attend IEST, and now the player list has been released including many top notch players from Europe and China.

In 2007, IEST was one of the biggest tournaments not only in China, but the whole world, but lack of sponsors kept the tournament from happening in 2008, now it returns to Beijing, immediately following WCG Grand Finals in Chengdu.

The process of adding Chinese players to the tournament is long and strenuous. They hold local qualifiers for a national tournament. The location of the ten tournaments are Shenyang, Wuhan, Nanjin, Beijing, Jinan, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

The most exciting qualifiers thus far have been in Hangzhou and Chengdu. Hangzhou's final came down to China Weilang 'Fly100%' Lu vs China Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li which has become the ultimate rivalry in Chinese E-Sports. Sky was the victor 2-1, but World Elite's head manager King said he felt Fly100% underestimated Sky in the final.

Later, Fly100% won a local qualifier in Chengdu over Infi, but both players advanced to the national final through this tournament.

Thus far, the Chinese players qualifier are China Xiang 'Th000' Huang, China Zhou 'TeD' Zeng, China Shenghui 'Future' Li, China Nan 'ForDream' Xie, China Haibo 'xiaoC' Zhang, China Zhen 'Hopestar' Xu, China Li Bai Yong. The top two players from each local qualifier will play in the national qualifier, where twenty players will battle for the four slots in IEST.

The international players who are invited to IEST via fan voting are:

Netherlands Orc EG.Grubby
Spain Orc MYM]LucifroN
France Human ToD[M]
Korea, South Nightelves WMF.Moon
Korea, South Orc SK.Lyn
Korea, South Nightelves MYM]ReMinD
Korea, South Nightelves SK.Check
Russian Fede- Undead EG.Happy

IEST begins November 20th and lasts for just one day as it comes to its end on 21st with the grand final. A Chinese live stream for all matches will be provided. This makes many players stay in China after the World Cyber Games in order to play this event in Beijing.

The prize money pool is not announced yet though myMYM.com will be present later on with more first hand information.

IEST in 2007 was great, pretty sure it gonna rock this time again, even though it is so short. But I hope they don't provide a hotel with beds that are as hard as stone again!

I'll be rooting for Moon as always. Nice roster btw. Seems like Germans didn't rig it this time or admins didn't care (which is the right thing to do).
