This easter we are moving up north, to one of the biggest LAN parties of the year. We will be seeding no less then 3 players and yours truly to bring you coverage from this big event.

The former CPL champion returned from the army last December and has been going at the ladder ever since. Recently he took over the #1 spot playing more than 50 games a week, and has been playing better the best WC3 I've seen from him in quite some time.

MYM|Ciara ready for his big break.
Last year MYM|Ciara made himself known by finishing top-4 in the danish WCG-Qualifier, which was quite remarkable seeing as he it was his first ever LAN-event and he took down a player like 4K.Kaj 2-0. He hasn't been doing too well recently in official matches, and has a down-period in form, mainly due to the "Dota-epidemic", which has been roaming for quite some time now. Fortunately for MYM|Ciara he has some time to practice before the event kicks of, so this could be the first tournament where Ciara goes all the way.

MYM|Yskhyr back from inactivity.
MYM|Yskhyr stopped playing ladder about 2 months ago, but then recently cut down on his Dota-time and starting practicing hardcore. Incidentally, this clashed with the release of 1.18 and being the Undead player he is, he had a lot of problems with Night Elf in 1.17. The new patch has apparently given MYM|Yskhyr new required motivation and I would consider him a strong outsider up here seeing as, he has tendency to beat his two teammates in custom games.


Known Faces.
Rumor has it that the strong Night Elf players it-Bob and 64AMD.Creolophus have found their to this big LAN-event and are of course among the favorites to win the title up here. I've seen SK.Dominator as well up here, I do however not know the status of his current form, but he used to be one of the strongest players in Scandinavia and could very well make a comeback at this LAN.

The Tournament.
The tournament lay-out is a bit peculiar seeing as this is a LAN-party and hard to seed all the players. 16 Players will be seeded and move straight to a 32 player bracket, whereas 128 players will have to play for seeds and top-16 will then move into the 32-player bracket.

I'll try to do as much coverage as i can e.g. replays, VODs, interviews etc, already have the first few videos made and they we'll be up as soon as I find an USB-Cable.

DAY 1 - The Gathering WC3 Tour under way

We've had quite a bit of changes bracket-wise, the seeding-rounds were shortened down to 64 players due to poor turn-out and a total of no less than 8 players were seeded in the following order:

This also meant that only 8 players would proceed beyond the seeding rounds. Furthermore best-of-3 will be used for the remainder of the tournament.

 MYM|ySKhyr: The Undead mirror is definately not my favorite match up, and I got a major setback in game 1 and didn't manage to come back on top.I'm most likely meeting Dominator in the next round, he's a very strong and experienced player and has always been one of the best Scandinavians. That being said I think I can take it home, since I'm playing pretty good at the moment and he hasn't practiced a lot vs undead 'cause he didn't know we were coming.It's a very nice event, by far the nicest event I have ever been to. Only downside is that the music is very loud and they play it from 6am to 3am leaving us with 3 hours to sleep in : [ The hall is very very nice and very big and when you stand on some stairs at the end of the hall, its like a sea of blue screens and the amazing ceiling.

DAY 2 - Time passing by

A Brief update on what's gonna happen here today, the larger part of the tournament will be played today. We'll start of with the upper 1/4 finals and go on untill we are down to the grand finalists. The grand finals are scheduled to start at 1 pm tomorrow, and the upper 1/4-finals will start anytime soon. Around 6 pm the upper Semi-finals will take place on stage in front of the crowd and on the big screen.

 MYM|yskhyr will start of with a very hard match today vs. one of the highest seeded players, the orc-player  SK.Dominator, who seems to be in very strong shape at the moment.  MYM|ySkhyr has been doing practise games vs.  MYM|Ciara for quite a few hours now, so his chances are certainly not diminished after that.  MYM|Bjarke is facing an Undead in his first match of the day, whilst  MYM|Ciara goes head-2-head with another orc-player from it.

So  MYM|Yskhyr already in lower bracket after losing twice to orc mass air, and  MYM|Bjarke more or less strolling into the semis, whilst  MYM|Ciara had a tough time in game 2, losing both heroes early on, but prevailed in the end.
