WCG announced yesterday that it had extended the contract with OnGamenet, the game specialized cable TV channel in Korea, as the global broadcast partner till 2010.

WCG and OnGamenet have been working together for more than 2 years, that is, from WCG 2006 Grand Final in Monza, Italy to WCG 2008 Grand Final in Cologne, Germany, and it is said that a total of 27 million viewers have watched the WCG tournament during the past 2 years.
So both of them expected to lift eSports to the next level, and with the contract extension, WCG 2009 Grand Final in ChengDu, China might be the most viewed tournament forever.
Hyoung Seok Kim, president and CEO of World Cyber Games, Inc. said that "We are truly looking forward to extending our relationship with OnGamenet and we are very excited to continue to broadcast e-sports at the highest level. The WCG's popularity in China, along with the previous year's broadcast ratings, is a sure sign that this year's WCG 2009 Grand Final will be the most successful and most viewed to date. "
