The Prime Defending Season 11 Final was set to take place in late November but wasn't played. Now MYM forfeits - check out how that could happen.
Amazing battles, awesome gameplay, thrilling strategies and great action between the world class teams and hundreds of players is what the Prime Defending tournament presents you for already eleven seasons. And also, for the current tournament we expected to present you a honourable winner again, but things turned out different - here is the recap:
As MYM came from the lower bracket in Prime Defending #11 the team mouz was waiting already in the upper bracket to face the Danish based team in the grand final. This highly awaited final was set to take place at the end of November though things should turn out quite different as the teams decided to play the match after Dreamhack which took place in early December. After mouz lost during this offline event in Sweden, Twisted left and it wasn't possible to play the match any longer. When both teams arrived at Dreamhack they already failed to talk with each other in order to arrange the PriDe games.
After Dreamhack the teams didn't communicate well enough and mouz also joined Ks.int. Ks.Int was allowed to play the finals only with their valid players from the old mouz roster with which they registered for the tournament, since that is a clear rule of the PD tournament. Therefore, the use of Jolie, Vigoss, Puppey and Gunz was forbidden for this game.
At first, mouz requested the match to be played on 6.57b, but after being faced with the fact that the team had to use the mouz roster that signed up for PriDe #11, the team switched back to demanding the 6.52e version. The reason being that Drayich was hardly prepared for 6.57b and that mouz would be as such in a disadvantage.
But mouz then faced the problem of getting enough players to play the final. Cat and Away left the team and Drayich went or was already inactive, leaving the mouz roster with only 4 active players. Even though Drayich was more or less convinced to play in this final, Twisted went inactive.
Now MYM's leader Maelk told the PD administration that his team will forfeit the tournament for the sake of making the next Prime Defending tournament possible and to be able to present the community what really matters: DotA games!
Quoting
"We as a team have come to the decision to forfeit the finals of PriDe #11, as mouz no longer exists and couldn't manage to field five players for the final. They beat us in the winnerbrackets, and although we got our revenge at Dreamhack, we also wanted to win PriDe. Unfortunately that wasn't possible. Now we would rather just look forward and get 2009 started with PriDe #12, and hopefully be successful in that tournament as well. Good luck to all the participating teams, looking forward to see some new potential and strategies from around the world."MYM|Maelk:
Quoting
"First of all I have to apologize to all the fans who have been following this PriDe until the end and also to MYM for not being able to play this final.Ks.Int|LevenT:
As you may have noticed mouz had alot of problems during this time, players leaving the team, sponsor issues and sadly our all beloved leader and father of the team went inactive. As well as the announcement with the new version (6.57) it seemed like both mym and mouz weren't so eager to play the finals on 6.52e thus having problems scheduling in time.
So basically it was a really bad timing especially for us and of course it makes me sad that it ended up like this. Nevertheless we shouldn't look back as Jacob already said and rather focus on the new upcoming PriDe.
I can promise you all out there we gonna see exciting and thrilling matches from all the teams, and especially we Kingsurf.Int are trying hard to provide you guys actionpacked and fast games."
myMYM.com will announce news about Prime Defending #12 within the next weeks.
