*DotA 6.58b released

Just 2 months after the release of 6.57b, IceFrog has announced the release of DotA version 6.58.

dota Unlike many regular version updates, 6.58 is a major content upgrade. Some of the more significant changes in this version are a complete revamp of 2 heroes and items, various hero abilities, the introduction of new game modes, as well as a few sorted nerfs and buffs to heroes.

* Disabled some item manipulation code that is specific to warcraft 1.20e from running on 1.21 and above (this is mechanism that affected droppability of items as soon as you used them until you issue a new command)
* Hero selection is now automatically restored when you revive from Aegis

* Rewrote Macropyre for some improved performance
* Rewrote Morphling's Waveform. It no longer causes you to lose control

When a plagued unit dies, its essence is transferred back to the Undying.

Ball Lightning
---------------
Storm Spirit becomes enveloped with energy, losing his physical form, and travels until he depletes his mana or chooses to stop. While in this form, he deals damage to nearby units based on how far his electrical form has traversed. Damage, speed and area of effect improves per level.
 
Stops traveling whenever you run out of mana. Deals damage in a small area around you based on distance traveled.
 
Damage: 8/12/16 per 100 units traveled
Manacost: (15 + 7% of total manabase) + mana based on distance traveled (10+1% per 100 units)
Cast Range: Global
Cooldown: 0
 
Travel speed and damage AoE improves per level.
You can cast spells like Static Remnant during your roll if you are quick enough.
Specific interactions with spells/projectiles follow the same rules as Waveform does.
 

Replay Data Specs:
- "Ban",playerid,heroid: is sent for each time a hero is banned in cm/xl
- "id" packets are sent after the mode phase (supports -sp)
- "GameStart",1: synced to time 0 ingame (creep spawn time)
- "9" packets are now sent each time a hero is picked
 

 
Switch
If someone wants to switch player slots with an enemy player or leaver, he
types -switch . If he types -switch without the slot it lists the possible numbers that can be used. After a player uses this command, no one else can attempt a switch for 60 seconds, to prevent confusion. All players are then presented with a command to enter to accept, something like "-switch accept" or "-ok". If 100% of all player agree , then you take the slot of the player you swapped with and both heroes swap positions.  Players have until the 60 seconds are over to accept the offer.

thats maybe true, but you cant forget, that he still benefits tremedously from agi since it is +2 on his dmg along with ias :)
i think i will stick with diffusal since it still has a nice agi boost along with the slow :)

Diffusal still the best item for riki, they finally remake Dirge, which was a stupid hero with no teamplay skills...And Storm too, what I found strange in Storm was his skills together doesn't define him as a support or a DPS, it was a mess when you see them, no combos and nonsense hero.

My first toughts after 6.52e was no longer in use were:
"F·$% they nerfed my fav heros! damnnn"
But you know what? Change = Progress
The cool thing about these new versions is that they give new, fresh game play, by just pushing the limits.
One thing I love about dota is that it is always be alive as long as people like icefrog and dota teams continue to push Dota players to try new items, new heros, new strat, etc.

Yeah dota is everlastng game,problem is IceFrog isnt doing much on balance,he is doing more on new stuff,and there are still heroes that are way imbalanced,but he just keep making new or remaking old,btw i liked Dota so much but i give up few months ago,when i saw where its going....My reaction for example when i saw that Melstorm is made from Claymore and not Hammer was WTF???Just like basher that now is made from Javelin(!?)...Its pointless,if IceFrog keep going like this Dota will die soon...

Yeah pub players -.- ...That is why Dota never became something like WC3 or SC are,that is why they dont put it into gamepool on WCG,point is IceFrog, as you said, seems like care more about Pubs then Pros and competetive Dota....When finaly dota can become eSport game,it seems like he dont give a shit about it....I know he is trying to do the best he can,but still it needs way more thing then to just satisfy hungry pub gamers.....

i think dota since 6 52 began a sort of experiment and such stupid changes in past 5 versions won't lead to smthing good
for example some my friends decided to play dota very seldom and i can say that now they even hate it! comparing with past they rethought their tastes in games(
